Does anyone know of any adult sport leagues in Hoboken? I know my boyfriend would love to play softball/baseball/football with other people in town. How about darts? Any info you have would be great. Thanks!

Unfortunetly Hoboken is lacking adult leagues. Alot of people play over in Jersey City but unfortunetly I don't have any info but try the parks department. Darts - The Dart league starts up in September I believe and I shoot for Farside. some of the other participating bars are Moran's, Oddfellows, Duffy's, Mulligans, and Nags Head

There's a pool league or two. I play the 8 ball on Wednesday nights.
We used to play football at Chelsea Piers over in the city. Bit expensive / difficult to get home from (Well -- a 3 avenue walk to the Path @ 23rd)

Thanks for the info. So how does one go about getting into a pool league? And you're right, Chelsea Piers is a pain to get home from. It's so weird that with so many fields and stuff in Hoboken, that there are no sport leagues right here!

Is it a cut throat dart league? I'd love to play myself, but I am definitely not very good. So I guess I should play for any team other than the Farside, right! Do you just sign up at one of those bars?

Errr. Good question.
Dunno. I found one that needed a player. I could ask around & see if anybody needs one. R U any good?
The other option is to form your own. Rogo's only has one team so I KNOW there's room for another there. I think the bar on 14th (can't remember what it's called -- opposite the cafe thing where you can eat on the roof (I'm *SO* good with names ;] )) afaik only has 1 team. But they keep moving the table.

I won't say it's cut throat but there is a wide range of abilities in the league. I'm pretty sure I was one of the worst players (record wise) last year but I got better as the season progressed. Out of 12 teams in our divison Farside finished about 9th or 10th. You have to kind of prove yourself at the bars, since the regulars kinda form teams among themselves. The place on 14th street for Pool is the Liberty Bar and Grill (also darts). used to play football in central park on saturdays but I have been coaching kids soccer so that keeps me from playing in that league anymore

Yeah. The (existing) pool team's called "Liberty or death" (no comment) now I know wtf the bar is called.
Do they rank you like they do in pool?

McSwiggins 2 (Ladies Team) is currently looking for female players for next season.
Just meander into McSwiggins on any night & ask the bar staff (Ann or Steve) if Kat is in (the chances are that she will be).
Tell her that Dougal sent you.
