Is there a decent video store in Hoboken? I can't
quite bring myself to go into Blockbusters...

I second the Take 3 recommendation. This is the store that I go to the most if I wanna rent something. Not only do they have a pretty good selection of foreign, indie, older and unusual films (which covers most of the stuff I rent), but they also have a friendly, knowledgeable staff, unlike say, Blockbuster. The only down sides are that sometimes they'll be out of movies since they keep limited quantities and also that, for all of their movies, you can only take them out for 2 days (and their late fees are steep, too!). And just so you know, they're also the only video store in town with a porn section, if you're into that sort of thing, of course. :) Of course, I've never actually looked at it, so I can't say anything else about it. :)

I also recommend Hollywood Video. They're especially convenient for me because I live a block away from their location here (they're in that strip mall with Kings, the Sparrow Wine Store and Rite Aid behind Hudson St. between 12th and 13th Sts. on a street called Shipyard Ln.). Many of their older videos are only $2, they have a much better selection than Blockbuster and here's the real reason to go there: all of their movies are 5-day rentals. They also give you bonuses on your account if you return new releases early. Check them out if you haven't already.

I go to Hollywood Video's. I like it. Always find what I'm looking for and everyone is helpful.

I would kill for a Blockbuster. Consider yourself lucky. Here in Jersey City, all we have are 2nd generation bootleg videos that are copies of copies. Needless to say, I won't rent from these thieves.

Hi,Did you try Take 3 Video on 6th & Washington?Their selection is very varied. There's Hollywood by The Shipyard on 12th & Hudson. They don't edit their movies like Blockbuster and every movie is a five day rental.Enjoy,Dawn Rose
