Hey,
Would anyone be interested in a pick-up game of ultimate frisbee? All we need is a disk (got that), patch of grass (Sinatra park?), and some players. Maybe we could play 6pm on a weekday, let's say Wednesday. Comments/suggestions?

Is ultimate frisbee similar to frisbee football? Please
exlain how the game is played. Okay, it may be a lame question, but...

Hey everyone-
How about Thursday night? We can meet at 6pm, and finish playing by 8:30, so those of you who actually go out on Thursdays will have plenty of time :). Even if we don't have enough people for a "real" game, we can throw a disk around, or play box (that only requires 4 people I think). Does anyone have cones? I'm actually not in Hoboken at the moment, so I don't know if there usually are any kind of games in the Sinatra Park (you know, baseball or soccer), but I think the new park by the Lakawanna plaza would almost always have space to play.
So, THURSDAY NIGHT, 6pm BY THE WATERFRONT NEAR LAKAWANNA PLAZA. BRING A LIGHT AND A DARK T-SHIRTS, LOTSA WATER AND A GOOD SPIRIT.
Even if you are a novice (I am), please come and join us! It's a lot of fun. See you there.

Hi everyone. I'd love to play (I haven't played Ultimate Frisbee since I was in summer camp during my junior high years or something) and any week night is OK with me, but can we make it a little later, like 7 or so. I typically didn't get out of work until 5:30 or 6 and it takes me anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to get into Hoboken, depending upon traffic of course.

Hi Matt,
I'm afraid that if we were to start this late, we wouldn't have enough playing time because it would get dark. (Frisbee in the dark is actually a lot of fun, because you get to play by the sound, but we won't try it). Just come by when you can: it will not be a problem if you come in the middle of the game instead of starting right away. Hope to see you there!
Bring all your friends, relatives, and random people from the streets of Hoboken!

So where exactly is Lakawanna Plaza?
If someone can tell me where it is, I'll be there ;). I'll bring a disc, but others should bring discs too, since we'll want to have a few to throw around with. Also bring cleats if you have them...

The waterfront by the Lakawanna Plaza is where Movies Under the Stars takes place (at least it did last year- please tell me if I'm mistaken). It's by the ferry, right next to the path station (River and 1st St). Hope that helps, and if anyone can be more coherent in explaining, please feel free to post.

Incidentally there's a pickup game on Monday nights.
Never been myself but I was chatting to a friend who said it happens.
I can dig out more details if anybody is interested.

I would definitely be interested...On another note, i went for a run today, and came right back home because it was just soooo very hot. Anyway, please post about the pick-up on Mondays, and hopefully it would cool off by Thursday :).

I'd also like info on the Monday game... time and place would be helpful ;)
Heat index of 100+ tomorrow :(... we may want to push
tomorrow's game to next week. Or we could just throw around a bit... I don't think anyone's going to feel like running much.
Thoughs?

From my buddy Theron who plays:
----
We play on Monday nights beginning at 7 pm. Some people arrive at 6:45 to
warm up and throw. I usually show up around 7:30 because of work.
Competition is pretty friendly, and all skill levels play together. We try
to have 7 people on a side, and there are usually subs. The team are white
shirts vs. dark shirts, and we don't keep score until the end when there
aren't many people left, and those who are are dead tired. There is no
stall count, either. We play at Sinatra Park, right on the river at about
Fifth Street.
------
Let me know if you need more info.
Dougal.
