wine tasting group

Any interest in setting up a casual, non-pretentious
wine tasting group? I was thinking of setting it up
as a floating location, everyone bring a bottle of something
they like, bring your own glass. A good chance to try
different wines, meet people... perhaps we can merge
this with the "networking" meeting that people seem to
be interested in.

Suggestions for a name for this wine tasting group are
welcome, preferably a name that is a bad pun.

That's a very cool idea. My roommate and I host a yearly wine tasting party and we always come away with some surprise favorites.

I would definitely be interested - I was out with some friends last night and was saying that I would like to get to know more about wines - what better way than tasting them!?!

re: wine tasting group. How about the Winos? Ouch!

I like your idea. Also, FYI, I'm the person who's trying
to promote networking with our fellow Hobokenites.

Let us know if (and when) you'll be organizing a wine tasting event.

I'm all for that. I have recently gotten one of those
wine basics books. I like wine but don't know squat
about what wines are good or bad.

I'm kinda allergic to wine, but like the idea of everybody bringing a bottle & meeting up.

Cocktails as well / instead?

I would like to do it too. I was once assistant to a sommelier. So I know something about wine, not everything! Don't ask me endless questions, please! But I think it sounds like a good idea for a maybe monthly gathering?
