I went to Precious, which is known for excellenr Chinese food. There was a BIG fly in the Kikkome sauce and bugs flying around our plates!

That's gross! However, I do have to agree with you that Precious generally has very good food. Has anyone tried their sushi? I walked by there last night and noticed that they had a new sushi restaurant right there on the premises, much like that Asia Cuisine place further up on Washington (between 9th and 10th, I think).

So, changing the topic a bit, I'd be curious to know what people's favorite Chinese restaurants are in Hoboken. Mine's got to be the Green Garden and not just because it's right across the street from me. The Hoboken Cottage is also good, though very inconistent. Still, the dish I had there the other night was superb (I wish I could remember what it was; it was shrimp something or other).

Hey Dawn,
Yes, Front Page is good also, but it's between 10th and 11th on Washington. The Green Garden is on Washington between 12th and 13th.

Cottage, Green Garden and Front Page (but not for the name).

Been going to these for years and have enjoyed the quality and consistency of their performance.

As for some of the others....watch out!

I'll have to agree with Dawn Rose. Front Page is one of the best Chinese restaurants that I've been to in Hoboken. Their prices, quantity and quality are reasonable (plus no flies in General Tso's sauce).

They call that authentic food. At least you know what is in the food. Imagine what flies around your food when it is in the kitchen.

My vote goes with matteo and Dawn Rose. I actually had not tried Front Page for a long while even though I knew about it. Then someone recommended them and I was really impressed. Their chicken dishes have chicken breast, not processed leg (or whatever it is some places use). They also have good vegetarian dishes (at least so my vegetarian friends say).

I also like Hoboken Cottage, though not as much as Front Page.

I have to correct myself here. Front Page is between 11th and 12th on Washington, not between 10th and 11th. I realized that I had made an error earlier when I walked home tonight and saw the restaurant as I walked by. Sorry folks.

I think Precious is the best now. I used to think Cottage was good until the delivery boy showed up a week ago and pointed out that the receipt now suggests a tip of 15-20%.

I had their Sushi/Sushimi platter the last time I ate there.

Mediocre at best.

wow, funny you should say that. I just ordered from them yesterday, the bill was $17 and the delivery guy didn't try to give me back change although I was going to tip him anyway. The food was good though.
