I like the ones @ the Blue Martini (13th & Willow ish) (think it's 1 back (towards Washington)). But they're not cheap.

But the last time I went there I was mugged on my way home. So that's rather put me off.

You were mugged???!!! What happened? I thought that only happened west of Monroe St. these days, though I hear it was pretty common back in the day (though someone apparently did get shot somewhere on Willow last week; I read it in the Reporter).

Ok, what is all this about shootings and muggings on Willow. I live on Willow! Seriously I hadn't heard of any real dangerous or crime situations in Hoboken in the year I've been there...just wondering what the details were in these situations.

10th June 2001 - 3am Sunday morning. Me -- drunk as a lord. Walked back from 13th to 3rd & Grand.

Walking into the back of the apt complex (on Adams) someone ran up behind me & hit me with something heavy.

Blood everywhere. Didn't go down. Tried to hit him. He ran off.

Repair bill for 3" gash in head w/ 17 stiches. $300.
New shirt & jeans due to blood damage. $80
Having the medical expenses come out of my deductable. - Priceless.

Wow, your saga now doesn't make me feel so bad about having to miss work this morning because, get this, I was walking on Washington St. at about 8 AM this morning and I was bit in the face by a dog that I was petting. To make a long story short, I spent my morning at St. Mary's and I currently have 4 stiches right above my upper lip. I love dogs and this incident won't change that, but it'll definitely force me to never pet another stranger's dog for as long as I live! Nevertheless, I'm at work now and I feel OK, so that's good, though I'm still a bit numb from the tetanus shot they gave me. Luckily, the dog had all of its shots, etc., so I don't have to worry about getting rabies or anything like that.

Matt

P.S. I didn't mean to scare the person who lives on Willow by posting that someone got shot there. I only posted it because I read it in the Reporter last week. If I still have that issue, I'll try to dig it up and post the blurb.

Oh gosh!

I'm so sorry to hear a dog bit you. I hope you're ok. Listen, you just made my "I fell down the hardest stairs in the world tale not a big deal at all. Get this, I'm sorta clumsy, quiet libary, 8 books, 2 kids, tumbleeeeee! Everybody totally looked annoyed that I was falling and not keeping the quiet rule intact hehe. Oh well. Besides 20 black and blues and some reading material, I'm ok. I hope you are too.

I'm OK now. Thanks for asking, Naomi. I'm sorry to hear about your fall, BTW. I can't believe that the people in the library were more concerned with you disturbing the quiet rule (and not intentionally, of course) than they were with whether or not you were OK or not. It just shows you where people's heads are at today. Anyway, I have to go back to the hospital in a few days so they can look at my stiches, but they're probably gonna be in there for a week or so. I also have to take some medication twice a day (Augmentin, it looks like, from the prescription blank).

Well I went to the hospital again today (to check the wound to see if there was an infection) and they said that I could get them removed as soon as Tuesday, so I'll get them removed Tuesday night. As of now, it looks like they're healing quite nicely and some of the pain has subsided. Thanks for asking.
