So, what do you think? I just saw a news story about the eight NJ same-sex couples that went to a Judge(?) to try to get this legalized. They also want the marriage license, so they can get medical insurance for their spouse, etc. NJ would be the 2nd state to pass this & the first to issue these couples a license.
I think it's time they "Update" this! Let the couples get married if they want to! What is the big deal?

Couples of the same sex have as much right to enter into a contractual relationship (marraige) as anyother pair. I have had close friends that were married cotss. I support their lifestyle and am willing to preside over the ceremony (I have this priveledge in a number of states, I don't know if NJ is one though).
Frankly to me it is a non-issue.

hahaha...Paul, remember just because it happens (Priest molesting) doesn't mean it's approved of.

My gay cousin got married in Vermont. (It is legal there, right?) I haven't met the husband yet, but am curious. I don't know my cousin well, but I'm sure they are a nice couple.
Why not legalize gay marriages? Any way you cut it, it's still two adults in love and they can raise children just the same. Not legalizing it is doing more harm to gay and straight people. How many hetero marriages end in divorce, with kids in tow, because one partner is closeted? How many gay children commit suicide because they know that their country does not accept them, not to mention their religion, peers, etc?
I saw an incredible documentary about gay relationships within the Hasidic community called "Trembling Before G-d." The focus is obviously on the trials/tribulations of gay individuals (different countries), but does not resort to bashing anti-gays (opposing, but varied views/advice are included throughout). The stories are insightful, as well as funny and heart-breaking at the same time. I'll be shocked if Blockbuster carries it when it's finally released. I can't recommend it enough.

Why is it disgusting? How would you feel if you were not allowed to marry your significant other?

My Dear Sparticus, Actually I'm not supposed to tell, well, because it's a secret and Josh I am very sorry but I need to get it off my chest (so to speak)!! Josh, Lana, Karen and I have been having a tiny bit of a thing going on. I'm not sure about the other girls I can only speak for myself. In my own experience (the boyfriend would kill me) but Josh and I well it's like this - when Josh arrives home and I've just completed cooking his favorite home made Ravioli (by the way ladies when I say home made I mean from Flour & Water cause the man wont have it any other way) myself and my aprin we don't mind at all. Anyway, after Josh eats his favorite Rav's if the meal is to his satisfaction then he'll bend me over the table (and Ladies -thats one heck of a sausage' he's packin) he just sends me into utter bliss. After he has me screaming for more he simply leans over and (Denise-this ones for you girlfriend) pats me on the head and says what a great little woman!!! Yes, Yes, Yes Josh I've come clean I'm so sorry I know we vowed to keep us a secret but I just had to tell, I just had to let the cat out of the bag!!! Anyway back to the evening - then after Josh finishes his food, I clean of the Table (while preparing his cafe latte) but if I can finish his laundry and press his shirts just right, then he just might give to me again (the pepperoni thing-you know) and then pat me on the head just once more before it's for me to scratch his back. SO THERE I'VE SPILLED IT - now I need to go confess and lets all hope the ego wall street boyfriend doesn't come spank me. Oh and please my dear Josh can you ever forgive me for telling??????

In two posts, I've gone from "flammer" (the only thing worse than an insult, is a misspelled insult) to super hetero. Thanks Pam! (Next time, I want stuffed shells!) Am I gonna have to hire a bodyguard to keep the hordes of women at bay?
No sausage, only Hebrew National.

What's a flammer? It sounds like one of those swedish shelving units at IKEA.
