King Missile Bids Farewell to CBGBs April 20
NEW YORK, NY-- In a final gesture of sadness and friendship, King Missile will say goodbye to CBGB's in a rip-roaring reunion performance featuring original members -- most notably, the notorious Dogbowl -- and other special guests, on April 20, 2006 at 10pm.
Now celebrating nearly two decades of socio-political rants, performance wit, spoken word and musical extravaganzas, the experience of attending a King Missile show could not be underscored better than in the historical and social contexts that CBGB's represents. King Missile -- most well-known for CMJ hits "Detachable Penis," "Jesus Was Way Cool," “Take Stuff From Work” and "America Kicks Ass" -- is lyricist/vocalist John S. Hall, bassist Sasha Forte, and multi-instrumentalist Bradford Reed.
To commemorate the imminent closing of CB’s, Hall is to returning to the band's roots and offer up a final performance salute to the venue where he first performed over 20 years ago with his joke/cover band "You Suck". Recruiting original member Dogbowl, and enlisting the talents of local musician John Kruth, the show on April 20th promises to offer something for everyone. "We're more AND less than a band," says Hall. Political raging, music, performance, spoken word and sarcasm are all in store.
Don't miss this opportunity to reconnect with the radical, sensitive artist you know you still have deep down inside. Listen to the latest single, "America Kicks Ass," here:
