Are you going to the Madison Square Garden U2 concert on the 24th or to the Continental Airlines Arena concert on the 28th? I'm going to the show at the Continental with a friend. If both of you are going to the same show, maybe we can all meet up beforehand. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Megadeth & Family Values.
Sorted.
Missed Rollins. Bummed. Alledgedly his last tour. (But then Ozzy's been saying that for YEARS)

I wish that I was going to Family Values since I like both Stone Temple Pilots and Linkin Park, but I have class that night. I'd also like to see the Pledge of Allegiance tour (can't because I have an exam that night) since I love System of a Down (esp. their new one) and when I saw Rammstein a few years ago, they really impressed me as well as scared the shit out of me (the only band ever to do that) with all their pyro, etc. (anyone who's ever seen them knows what I'm talking about). I missed Rollins also, but I did see him this past summer at Warped. Absolutely unbelievable. As for the upcoming shows that I do have tickets for:
Spiritualized at the Riverside Church next Thursday
U2 3 days later at the Meadowlands
Ben Folds on Nov. 21st at Town Hall
I can't wait!

I love linkin park and system of a down too and am totally bummed that I won't get to see either of them! ;-(
I was listening to the new s.o.a.d. album the other day at work when a partner busted into my office and just started talking before I had a chance to turn the music down - he made no comment but I was glad that it was on track one and not two! <giggle>

Megadeth Rocked!!!!
They played for 2 straight hours, & Mustaine even did a good job of not being a total w*nker with his views on Afganistan.
Where were Ben Folds playing? Do you know if they're sold out?

Ben Folds is playing on November 21st at Town Hall (it's on W. 43rd St. in Manhattan). Unfortunately, the concert sold out in about 10 minutes (I bought a ticket right when they went on sale and I was only able to get 1 in the lower balcony since they weren't selling 2 together at that point). You can try closer to the day of the show (sometimes Ticketmaster or the venue releases tickets on the day of the show or a few days beforehand) or your local scalper (oh sorry, I meant "ticket broker").
Matt
P.S. What are Mustaine's views on Afghanistan?

Have you ever been to a concert at Town Hall before? TMBG is playing there in November and I was wondering what a show there would be like. Do they still have seats on the ground floor level? Admittedly, I have "mental block" against the place after having to spend an entire summer studying there once so I can't imagine what a show there would be like.....

You studied there once for an entire summer? How did that end up happening?
Anyway, Town Hall is a theater that holds roughly 1,000 people. The most comparable places that I've seen concerts at are the Morristown Community Theatre in Morristown, NJ and the State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ (oh, and the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ as well), which are all theaters that hold roughly the same amount of people. I've only seen one show there and that was Henry Rollins doing spoken word there back in March (good show, but I've seen Hank do spoken word 3 other times and he's been better in the past).
Matt
P.S. What I'm really intrigued by is how Spiritualized, who I'm going to see next Thursday night, will sound in a church (the Riverside Church in upper Manhattan).

BarBri has their NY Bar Review classes there, so for 6 hours a day from May until the bar exam at the end of July, it was class at town hall every day for me - thus, you can see why I can't imagine doing "fun" stuff there....
So they still have seats on the ground floor? I don't think I have ever seen they might be giants sitting down.

When I saw Henry Rollins there, they did have seats on the ground floor, but I'm not sure what they're gonna do for TMBG (or Ben Folds for that matter).

Unfortunately I couldn't even get orchestra seats for Ben Folds. I'm in the balcony Row F. What's weird about that concert is that the show sold out right away, but I saw an ad for it in last week's Village Voice, which indicates that tickets were still on sale (or maybe extra tickets were released later). Weird.

Hey maybe you could sell the balcony tix and get new ones. I just went on ticketmaster's site and tried to order one ticket to Ben Folds (just to see) and came up with Orchestra row M. So it is definitely not sold out - maybe you could get better seats.
