Christine E. Goodman and Radomir Luza, Jr.
PLACE: Victory Hall, 186 Grand St., 2nd Fl.
(Five Blocks From the Grove Street Path Station)

FEATURING: Jendi began composing poems when she was about four years old because she believed literary fame was a way to cheat death - a delusion she still harbors. Jendi also writes to explore ideas, vent emotions, and communicate insights. But her strongest impulse is simply the need to say, "I was here," to make a dent in the vast bulk of time and space that threatens to overwhelm our individual lives.
Jendi has been influenced by Eliot and Auden's lyricism combined with complex philosophical themes, the romantic poetry of Sara Teasdale and Rupert Brooke, and the clear, plain-spoken work of Philip Levine and Richard Hugo.
Jendi and her husband, Adam Cohen, are the founders of Winning Writers, Inc., which publishes the quarterly newsletter "Poetry Contest Insider."
OPEN MIKE: Follows featured readers. Sign-up sheet will be posted at the beginning of the Performance Night. Each Performer gets five minutes.
