Sexual Politics by Pat Califia

I've often thought it's true
That all a feminist needs
Is a nice hard fuck.

The problem is

The nice ones never
Bring themselves
To fuck me hard enough

and

The ones who do it hard
Aren't nice enough
To keep around past breakfast.

Since we're begining in the realm of over simplification (there are two types of men, nice and mean), I'll stick around long enough to point out an irony: During the day it is the nice ones are the ones who realize how strong women are and what they are capable of doing. Somehow in the bedroom the nice ones become far more sexist than the macho guys.

do the nice ones become more sexist than the macho ones in the bedroom because they are letting out their frustration from being nice all the time? if this is the case, they aren't truly nice, just passive aggressive.

are macho guys not sexist in the bedroom because they let out their testosterone during the day, thereby becoming effeminate at night?

i'm not sure what you mean.

folks

Frustration with sex and companionship doesn't only happen between partners of different sexes

To clear up any amusing misunderstandings here - Pat Califia is a woman.

And I don't know that this is her absolutely strongly held treatise of all womankind.

This poem is from "Diesel Fuel." She says in the forward forward "This book is called Diesel Fuel because I wrote it to energize diesel dykes. The term is nearly obsolete now. In its original context, it referred only to a certain kind of slightly older butch, a woman so masculine she could never be mistaken for anything other than a dyke....."

Consider the sexist idea that women are weak and fragile. Like what's behind comments like "that's woman's work." One would then conclude that the more sexist you are the more you treat a woman like a delicate creature. What's weird is the nice guy falls into this sexist thinking in bed. Looking at it from that perspective it's ironic, because it makes mr. sexist macho look like he's got concern for the woman's feelings.

However, I think the reality of the situation (and we're still within the fiction of sterotypes of course) is that the macho view of women is that they all have the exact same sexual need (no room for individuality here) and that it is testosterone ridden semi-violence.

Does anyone say "all a feminist needs is a good hard fuck" and not mean a man should be the one who gives it to her?

it depends if we are still defining the word fuck as something only a man has the power to do...........

but i guess what you mean is only a man can "boff" the feminist out of her...that being a man who uses boffing as a power tool.
