Yesterday, a few of my friends and I went to the Weekend Social Dinning event hosted by the NY Foodie Club.
The Restaurant was Safran at 88 7th Ave. First of all I have to say this was an Excellent place. The food was awesome. The lunch box special was only $10 and I knew from the first bite that I would be returning to this restaurant.
There was a large and friendly turn out to the event. There was at least 40 people there and we took over the downstairs of the joint. Stephen, the organizer was at the front door welcoming everyone and directing people downstairs.
The one drawback of dinning events, is that you really only get to talk to the people you are sitting with, but we ended up having some really good conversations at our table and the whole table was very talkative. The plus side of dinning events is that its very easy to talk to people. I made a few good contacts at the lunch as well as seeing a few people I have not seen in a while. This was a very fun event and I am looking forward to going to more events by this group. Note that there is no fee for going to this club's events. You just pay for your meal. Another big plus!
