It will be six months since I lost my job at the end of this month. I don't seem to have any trouble getting interviews, and everyone I interview with seems to want me, but..
Then there is some problem - budgets get cut, the job description changes, someone else in the company suddenly decides they want the job, etc. I wish companies would research all these things before they post the job, I go through three interviews, and then I get one of the above reasons as the reason they can't/won't/aren't able to hire me.
End of my whine for today.

I know, Mary.....it's such a pain in the butt, right?! Ugh!
Don't take a salary cut, unless you have to... You should always try to increase 5-6k with each new job!

Totally, Christine. In all deference to Jerry, I can't stomach taking a pay cut if I'm going to live here. I'd still have the same expenses, and I'd have less money to meet them with.
However, I'm very willing to work for less downstate in NJ, because the cost of living is a third of what it is here. $45,000 goes much farther there than it does here.
