Information Architect
Role Description
Information Architects define and document the online user experience for
major client brand web sites from cosmetics to telecommunications.
The Information Architects key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the overall strategic and creative vision of a project.
- Defining and prioritizing user goals and site functionality.
- Developing navigation and interaction methods.
- Creating site architecture maps and user flow diagrams that define the
organization of content and functionality.
- Creating detailed user interface specifications that describe page-level
navigation options, content, functionality.
- Providing usability and interaction design feedback to visual design team.
Skills and Experience
- A degree in a related field, such as graphic design industrial design,
human-computer interaction or information sciences.
- Experience developing branded interactive products, such as websites, CD-ROM or kiosks.
- Excellent visual and verbal communication skills.
- Experience conducting and/or observing user research and translating user research into design decisions/revisions.
- Experience with rigorous usability and/or heuristic evaluation.
- Experience defining and documenting Functional Requirements and Specifications.
- Proficiency in software programs such as Visio, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Experience in a professional work environment, preferably in client services.
