Where in town can you go for a comfortable real breakfast (other than the tiny diner just down from the downtown Starbucks)? NYC has countless inexpensive diner-ish restaurants, sometimes called coffee shops. There has got got to be a similar place fairly centrally located in Hoboken. I do know about the diner way, way uptown. I'm not especially interested in pricey weekend brunch spots.
Also, aside from Starbucks and Panera, anyone know of any cozy places you can have coffee/tea and hang out for hours with paper, books, laptop, etc. I really enjoy being somewhere other than my apartment, out with the rest of the world. I'm more peaceful and productive for some strange reason. The world needs more putlic living rooms!
Thanks for any ideas. I've only been here a couple of months and haven't done much exploring. TOO COLD so far for wandering around when not absoloutely necessary.

Symposia! [see banner] fantastic home-away-from-home, get something to much on from outside and just hang out there, sometimes cool people to hang with too
Ganache - 356 13th St. notable for desserts
It will be an especially good place to hang around with their five-hour hot chocolate next Saturday 1/31 from 2:30...:)
The Frozen Monkey - good food, they have a connection for your laptop I think

I recommend Zafra and La Isla. Both cuban/latino food. The best cafe con leche!

I would have to agree with your choice of Ganache...I love that place and you really can hang out there with a book for hours. I'm curious as to this 5-hour hot chocolate event on 1/31....what is that about exactly and do you know where I can get more info?? I checked their website, but there's nothing posted regarding this........

Last winter there was an event there and they were saying that they had the most amazing Hot Chocolate and it takes them 5 hours to make it. I didn't think it could be all THAT amazing so they said that if I tried it and didn't agree that it was awsome they would give me my money back. Well I tried it and I didn't ask for my money back. It really is some great hot chocolate.
So I guess I can put up with Daphna's singing for a while for the hot chocolate :)
Just kidding Daphna. Now, put the baseball bat down.....
