Hi,
Anyone have any feedback on how this health club is?
How are the fees?

Thank!

I left NYSC and joined Club H in January 2004. I was impressed with Club H once I took a look around the gym and locker room. It was aesthetically pleasing and very clean. Upon realizing it was about $5 cheaper per month (for an annual membership all paid up-front) than what I was paying at NYSC, I signed up immediately. I do not miss NYSC one iota.

Club H is planning to expand its space this year or next. It's going to be huge and they are adding a day spa.

The staff are very nice and pleasant. The location is great (across from the park and the NY skyline). As you can tell, I'm very pleased with Club H thus far.

I can't argue with you about Club H aesthetics, they did a nice job. But I found that there are some major differences well worth considering.

For one thing, you are locked into a yearly contract as compared to NYSC's month to month. And is it really worth saving $60.00 per year by paying the annual membership "up-front."

Another NYSC plus is that you can use anyone of their "other" gyms in NY, CT, and PA. I like the fact that I can go to another gym. Some of my friends live in Hoboken and work in Manhattan. The option to use another NYSC makes the commitment to "keeping to a workout routine" both convenient and that much easier.

BTW... Most, if not all, of the NYSC facilities are clean, aesthetically pleasing, and well equipped. Although the Hoboken NYSC is in the basement, there is an additional NYSC being built at 14th and Park. NYSC is currently building a second gym at 14th and Park in Hoboken. Thats TWO NYSC gyms in Hoboken....

Think twice before you lock yourself into a yearly contract with any gym.

Club H has the option of paying membership fees on a monthly basis in addition to paying annually.

yes, you can pay monthly at Club H instead of paying one annual payment. But you sign a contract which locks you into to a 1 year agreement. Fail to make the payments and the collection agency tracks down.

The NYSC is truly a month to month deal. If you want to quit the gym, you cancel and owe nothing more.

Don't get the wrong impression. Club H is a nice gym, but it does have its drawbacks with the yearly contract commitment and being a "one gym" operation.

If NYSC is building another facility uptown that is music to my ears! I go to the one downtown and the one near my job but come winter, I am not going to want to lug my work clothes all the way into the city at the crack of dawn. Do you know when it is expected to be complete? I didn't see it listed on the Openings, Expansions, and Improvements Updates on the website.

As many of you know I have recently closed up my business at supreme and taken a position with NYSC. To answer your question: It could be as early as the end of the year!!! I hope the added club will make it easier for the members of hobokencafe.com to improve their health in 2005. If you have any other questions, please e-mail me at brentcpt@yahoo.com.
