I'm sure Daphna will take your pet rats off your hands!

Planning on moving November 15th. Remember I lived in Ft. Lauderdale for 8 years - never liked the winters here and every winter is worse than the last one - plus SoBe is incredible!!!! Found a great one bedroom two blocks from Lincoln Road and two blocks from The Delanon and the beach! Will worry about a job when I get there - I still have a lot of friends and contacts! And I can run on the beach every day.

I don't understand why the rats can't go with you. You made the commitment to take care of them, right?

Because I'm taking my three dogs and I took the rat boys because it was take them or have them as snake food. I was meaning to shelter them and find them homes, but they were so cute I just really didn't bother looking for a home for them - but now it's time. Besides - it's not practical to take them in a car for a two day journey - how would they go to the bathroom? And my terrier would just eat them if we were all in a car together for two days.

Best of luck in SoBe. The winters are great there but those sweltering summers would get the better of me. If I were only a wee bit wealthy, I would live around here in the spring and summer and, once it got cold, I'd be off to southern California. Maybe one day...

LIved in Ft. Lauderdake for 8 years - I can personally attest that the summers in Florida aren't bad at all. The winters here, however, are just brutal. HATE WINTER!

I'm curious! Did you find a place for your rats? Did you move to South Beach? I'm a rat-owner who used to live in Union City New Jersey (now in New Orleans), considering a move of my own to South Beach early next year. I'm curious to know how things went for you!
