I'm a living in Tokyo, Japan (use to live NY) and I have a Japanese friend currently translating Japanese Reiki site into English and she asked me how her translation is. Well, I think she wants more opinion than just mine so if anybody have some time to spare, please see this HP and post an opinion for her!! Thank you!

Some food for thoughts!

When she uses the words "Negative energy" it implies judgement on energy, then elsewere she says "do not... make judgment"

Is there something the writer do not understand about the nature of energy?

anjuli,

Reading the first page only I do see some small grammatical errors like using the word are instead of is and not adding s to the end of some words to indicate a quantity of more than one. These are common errors when translating from Japanese to English.

I do have a real problem with the sentence

This is the project as a mankind on earth to shed the light on the grand theme of "What is humanity?" and "What is existence?"

It just doesn't make any sence to me. I may not be getting the point or there may be a problem with the translation.

ALP stands for "AQUA LIGHT PROJECT".
We took our name after the image of "AQUA (water)" as a source of all life forms and "LIGHT" as love and true essence of all that (IS)
This is the project as a mankind on earth to shed the light on the grand theme of "What is humanity?" and "What is existence?" and to heal as many people as possible by using all knowledge, wisdom and method(S) to enjoy creation of life.

In general it may be a good idea to employ a native speaking English person who has a knowledge of the Japanese language working along side the Japanese speaking person to proof read using both sites as reference. We may be able to tell you about grammer but with things like the sentence above where the meaning is obscured we can't be of any help because we don't know the intended message. Sometimes translating can be more about the intent behind the words themselves than about the literal translation of the words.

Hope this helps

Walk in beauty,
Rebecca
