Massage Table Resource

Just heard that Sam's Club has a folding massage table with headrest & carrying case for $199.00. Since I never even considered a warehouse club as a resource for a table, thought Id tell you'all.

Namaste Holobon,

Thank you for the info./resource. Always nice to know where to pick up an extra table or two, and at a most readily accessible Club

Great price but beware the ones for sale are usually the ones with metal legs and a low weight limit. I have used one recently and it just won't stand up to the usage that I give a table, so I opted not to get one.

I just wish Oakworks or Strongtite would have a great sale on tables. . .

Thanks for the info,

Carolyn

namaste,

actually, the table seems to be very nice for the price. solid wood construction with a 500lb. weight limit. it comes with a head and arm rest and a carry bag. it would make a good reiki table or as a starter for a massage therapist.

my wife who is a certified massage therapist and owns a living earthcrafts table was quite impressed. we're seriously considering one as a second table.

anyhoo, i think it's well worth taking a look at.

on another note, we have a webpage up if anyone would care to take a look:

http://members.tripod.com/angeleagle/index.htm

take care, be well.

Namaste donpaul,

The table is so solid that its too heavy for me to transport to people's homes...its a good size in length & width as well & the legs are adjustable. My teacher was very impressed & said it was similiar to one she paid $850.00 for.
I was, however, looking for a light portable table but have not found one I could afford that was sturdy. Anyone out there know of any?

peace...

namaste holobon,

there's quite an assortment of suppliers for massage tables on the internet:

http://www.bodyworksemporium.com

my wife has gotten numerous items (books, tapes, etc.) from them and enjoys doing business with them.

http://www.gnatable.com

http://www.massagewarehouse.com

http://www.earthlite.com

http://www.tatumtable.com

something to think about - you might want to get a massage table caddy. since my wife is 5'2" it really comes in handy when she needs to move her table. another thing she mentioned is distributing the weight of the table right. they taught her class to put the shoulder strap over your head and onto the shoulder opposite the table, so the strap crosses your body. trying to carry a table with the hand straps makes it near impossible to handle.

good luck on finding the right table :).

take care, be well.

Dear donpaul,

Wow, thanks for all those sites & the info re carrying the tables...Ive never seen anyone carry a table anyway other than with the handles.
I look forward to doing a little ( hmmm...maybe a lot) of research :)

namaste holobon,

one additional thought - if you know someone who does woodworking there are plans on-line to build your own massage table. maybe you even could work out a reiki-for-table barter :).

here's the link:

i'll be off-line for the next ten days or so. the group we work with is sponsoring camp for kids with bleeding disorders this coming week.

take care, be well.

Hi!
OakWorks has subcontracted to an overseas company to make a better "Cheap" table! I just received the info by fax from them yesterday! There is only one style and one color, but I would try and reach them for more questions, as I think the price range was comparable. I would not trust a table that cheap from a "warehouse" type store.... at least there are some assurances for quality if OakWorks states they have researched the manufacturers themselves! Give it a try!

Another good source for tables is:

gotyourback.com

They've been in business for 15 years, and their tables are reasonably priced.

Kudos to Gotyourback. My earthlite table is from there. I actually went to Manayunk, PA to pick it out. I thought I would be going to a BIG warehouse...LOL..but it was fun to pick color etc.

They can be reached at 800-677-9830 or gotyourback.com

Dear Fyremare,

The table is featured at the web site of the manufacturer, regularly priced at $299.99. Purchasing in bulk allowed Sam's to get a good deal. I have the table & am quite pleased with it. Sam's restocked due to sell out the first time.

holobon

I just joined and logged in. Is this Sam's Club you are talking about to get a table? Can you tell me more? E-mail me privately if you wish with as many details as possible? I live in the Pacific Northwest.

Thank you...
