The Reiki Cafe 

Starjasmine has requested adding some new boards to the Cafe. It's certainly way overdue. I would like to know what new boards people would most like to see added.

Long overdue?? I would think you have your hands full running the wonderful haven we have here. But since you asked...
There is new interest in a book club here at the cafe. Perhaps a room/board for that purpose.
I personally, give thanks everyday for the site we have!! Thank you so much for all you do!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! All the wonderful work you do designing and maintaining the Cafe, and all that Firekeeper does with keeping a watchful eye on things has made the Cafe such a special place to be a part of. I am grateful to you both.

As for new boards, perhaps if the general concensus is there - one for dream work? There seems to be a fair bit of dream discussion here lately. Mind you that could be just a current theme that will run its course.

I've not yet had the opportunity to thank you for the wonderful work you do maintaining this site. I love the format because it's so easy to use. The archives are a great bonus...being able to search through all the previous posts is a terrific resource.

You could leave everything exactly as it is and I would be thrilled. If you feel so inclined to add another board...one for the new book club would be great. But, truly, I like the uncluttered format just as it is.

Thank you again for your hard work...you and Firekeeper make quite the team!

Well, Im quite happy with the way things are now. It might be nice to have a Healing the World board dedicated to Reiki & other therapies for worldwide peace & healing. Maybe we could have times for group long distance to world trouble spots.

I like to think (heh heh) that I can be a forward thinker. To me the original elements of the Cafe are weathering the test of time quite well.

I could see adding some color to the boards and chat rooms if that were feasable.

- since URLs are restricted to the Announcements Boards maybe this service could be enlarged??

- so to codify sharing websites via links??

- people put favorite links in their profiles but these one has to look for specifically by person

- perhaps a place for people to post various links - references for book, commercial sites, whatever

- one could then search by topic to see if there were referenced links

Thanks for your reply and the efforts that you and Mike have put in.

I was looking forward to the expansion of the club. I visit a site that cater for a particular illness and they have a discussion board for literature as well as creativity. The layout was good and it catered for its growing population. It has changed for the benefit of the members and the response is great. I wish that for this great place. I don't wish to make it difficult for others to read so many different types of posts by adding new ones.

I have been thinking that if the demand/ request is there, that we could place on the front/ home page of the Reiki Cafe a book club. The club can then included e-books, availabilities of books, web links and learning materials that can all assist us in learning more about reiki and related topics. Discussions and recommandations can go under the title "Book Club". Also in this section we can be more focus on the topics that we are interested in. We also have at hand the name of books of interest and can then reccommand others similiar books and talk about the contents of the them.

Subdivisions can be added to the Reiki discussion board to accommodate for " Healing the World board" and "dream work".
As more topics become popular we can add small sections to cater for them.

I will set up some new boards when I get a chance. I'm working on putting together a Charity party in my home town at the moment so am a bit distracted.

Thank you for this wonderful place!Some kind of link list would be appreciated,but not hundreds of links.Maybe if we suggest links and you and Firekeeper use your discresson and edit.Is it possible to count how often a link is used? Then you can erase links not frekwnetly used!

I agree. Uncluttered is good. But if you do add I'd like to see a special one devoted to Reiki as spiritual work.
