Sacred Contracts - Caroline Myss

I recently got this book, having previously read Anatomy of the Sprirt some time ago.
Just read the first chapter, finding it interesting- though alittle heavy going. (I've taken a big step backwards with my spirtuality of late, trying to move forward once again.)

Just wondering what others think of the book?

Love and Light,
Evie

Yes, I read the book long ago. Yes, it started out interesting, a little too pat sometimes and quite a lot of fillers, made me skip pages! But I did learn that a lot of us have a theme for our lives and for some, their story can be actually boiled down to one word. What an improvement we can make if we recognize this fact and get over it!

I already find myself skipping through pages of the book, though I haven't even got very far into it yet.
I had just put that down to my lack of patience lol.

Hey Evie,
I love her stuff. yes, it can be a little tedious but if you get them on cd ( Hello Library!) then they are much easier to get through and the insights are awesome..

Blessings,
J

Hi Evie,

Agreed, the CD version is alot better, and will keep you wanting more...The book overwhelms with too much information...hard to swallow..

Caroline is a very influential speaker...She is good!..however, I had to stop for a reality check every now and then...as she can be so charismatic to the point where one would be inclined to surrender and detach from everything..So, keep an open mind and take what works for you only ...

Namaste,
Radiance

Dear Evie May,
I have read Caroline Myss & listened to her tapes & a video. I have never been able to get through Sacred Contracts although I have tried on numerous occasions. Heavy is perhaps an accurate description from my point of view.

peace & joy,

Hi Holobon,

Namaste :>}}

I agree with your comments about Caroline Myss, for me, I have never been able to really get into her books - maybe the CD`s would work better, but Ijust don`t warm to her style I`m afraid. Thought it was just me `til I read this thread.

Dear Philanty,
No one wants to admit they cant follow a guru...HeHeHe. Maybe she is a circular thinker...but I tend to get lost in those circles. Perhaps thats why Im still on earth school, going round and round! :)
Good to hear from you!!

Thank you all for your replies.
I've given up on this book way to over my head for me! Shame, cos I really enjoyed Anatomy of the Spirit. Perhaps I will get it out on CD sometime.

Love and Light,
Evie

I really worked with that book, and got very little out of it. I took it to my Spiritual Director for help, because it was leading me to no deeper understanding of myself. She felt the book was not very helpful, either.I think Myss makes some good points, but I am a bit put off by a palpable lack of compassion in her words and voice on her CD's. Personally, I think she still has a lot of healing to do, despite her great intelligence, insight and intuition. I do not hold her as a role model.
Peace,
Feather

Hi Feather,
I have watched her videos on Energetic Healing several times & never get very far. Every time I hope I will get into it. Yet, a tape heard years ago that discussed the dark night of the soul as part of the spiritual journey did speak to me. One wonders if sometimes Phds get their heads so far up into theory and abstract thought that they have difficulty relating to everyday people. Her style strikes me as a college lecture before a large auditorium more than an informal seminar.

Reading your posts has given me confidence. I have got two of her books and was ready to devour them, they still lay in the bookcase. I agree with the lecturer theory. Some teachers can speak to everyone with ease and get their message across and others lose touch with us 'normal' folk!. Maybe I should try again. She is very good at eye catching titles though.
