Here is a great new Reiki book by Steve Gooch, called: 'Reiki Jin Kei Do: The Way of Compassion & Wisdom'.

Stunning book and probably the best thing on Reiki written in many years. Loads of stuff in here I didn't know and plenty that I guess the rest of the Reiki community didn't know too.

Origins of the Reiki symbols is discussed and the meditation that Usui used on Mt Kurama is held within this system also. I think that this book is going to cause a bit if a shockwave actually.

Highly recommended though. The first book I think to get right to the heart of the Usui system.

Blessings,

Steverg

Another interesting book - from what I can tell (as it seems not to be easily available in the UK) is Lubeck's 'The Big Book of Reiki Symbols'. Trying to get it from Amazon USA at the moment. Anyone know anything about this book? It seems to have been linked on Amazon to the Jin Kei Do book.

Lubeck has produced some good material in the past, though I am suspicious of someone who writes so much so quickly - can it all be well researched?

Thanks for the recomendation . I was looking at this book on Amazon the other day. So maybe I will buy it, can I see some synchronicity at work? :-D

It is always interesting to look at the historical aspects of Reiki but there isn't an awful lot out there - other than the usual stuff that covers the lineage through Mrs Takata.

One question though - do you think this book would appeal to a non Budhist? From what I understand (though I am very often wrong about these things!!!!!! 8-> hahaha) the Jin Kei Do way has it's roots firmly placed in this tradition.

Thanks again

Love,joy,peace,health and abundance to you

Reiki Jin Kei Do is not a Buddhist lineage and there are many people within the lineage that do not subscribe to the philosophy of Buddhism. Reiki Jin Kei Do does however recognise and celebrate the fact that the whole Reiki system is derived in significant part from Buddhist material - such as the Buddho system of healing from which Mikao Usui took his meditation practice when on Mt Kurama. Buddho system - only taught within Reiki Jin Kei Do also contains the precise origins of all of the Reiki symbols. Reiki Jin Kei Do does see the system of Reiki as principally a spiritual development practice and secondarily as a healing therapy.

I was pointed to the Reiki Cafe by a contact, after some considerable absence from this forum myself, who informed me that someone had asked about my book. I am willing to address questions relating to the book of course if anyone has any, but not on this Forum - contact details for me are in the book and elsewhere.

Many blessings to all,

Steve Gooch

Yes, I am working on some ideas now, but the next book is not going to be a Reiki book. There may be more on Reiki to come but not for the time being. I have gathered a huge amount of material concerning the origination of Reiki under Usui and most of this has not been published in relation to Reiki. One day perhaps I will do it.

Blessings,

Steve
