I'm saving the third until my holiday in two weeks and i can't wait.

These books are supposedly for teenagers but they - like Harry Potter - are most definitely fun for big people too. Quantum Physics meets humanity with an incredibly believable parallel world described with humour and empathy.

Well worth a look!

Favorite quote (The Subtle Knife)

Dad to Will:

"Are you a warrior? Have you fought and won your fights?"

(tentative) "Yes."

"Argue with anything else, but don't argue with your own nature."

Similar to Gnostic poem, The Robe:

"(the young prince's) freedom longed for its own nature"

~

My daughter, Rebecca, loved these books. Children are especially enchanted with the notion of having daemons - animals that can change and will settle into a specific form after adolescence to accompany and support folks through life.

Blessings on a good read.

I LOVE THESE BOOKS!!! The fist book is the Golden Compass(my most favorite book), The second is the Subtle Knife and the third is The Amber Spy Glass. These have got to be some of the best books I have ever read! I loved the Golden Compass, after 4 years, it is still my favorite book
