While looking for something new, something I've not read before at the library, I came upon The Reluctant Shaman.
Has anyone read this? Any opinions to flavor my reading?

Namaste...
Demetra, I have read this book, and now have bought it because I so enjoyed it, and learned so much from it! I highly recommend this book. The author also has a website and newsletter you can sign up to receive, which is fascinating to read. I really learned a lot from reading this true account of a woman who learned shamanism from her South American teachers. I hope you enjoy the read as much as I did. :)
Blessings,
Erin

Dear Erin,
Thanks for your thoughts; I read the reviews of the book on Amazon and either the reviews are by friends of hers (and wax poetic) or are really tough. I was hoping for another perspective. Thanks too for the website/newsletter info....I'm always interested in new viewpoints, new information. Tell me, do you/are you studying shamanism?

Demetra, you're welcome. :) I have been interested in shamanism for many years, and have begun some formal study just this year, yes. It is another way to meditate and work with universal energy, much like working reiki to me.
Blessings,
