Is anyone reading, or have you read the Urantia Book? I am so curious and have some great wisdom experience sharing with me ( a very avid fan of the Book) to purchase a copy and begin to study it. I have really enjoyed the Courses In Miracles, began with that in 1986, took a few years of effort to get into that and then it has become such a wonderful companion for me, so...just wondering if there are others who have read the Urantia teachings, and is there a particular way to study it so it opens without such effort? I know that ego is challenged by spiritual truths, I have some awareness of the resistance to freeing ourselves up to Spirit, just wondering.... Thanks Sharon

Hi Bubba,

My father-in-law (passed over about 15 years ago) used to read this book. He was a highly intelligent man who asked many questions while seeking answers. He read it over and over. Just loved it! He tried many times to get us interested, but to no avail. We'd each open it up from time to time, but it was way over our heads. All of us in the family thought he had really lost his mind, but that was way before any of us would have believed in any of this kind of stuff that is so real to us now. I still haven't read it myself, but do have a vague sense of it from reading reviews and talking with others about it. It would have been fascinating to see where my father-in-law would be at this point in time with his learning if he were still on the Earth plane. In many ways he was way ahead of his time.

Enjoy your studies. I'm sorry I can't offer any helpful hints on studying it, but there should be many sources on the internet that can offer you some ideas.

With light and love,
Featherpoint

Otoharo!

Sharon, I first found Urantia in 74 while on a tour. I stayed with a cousin for a week. while she was at work, I noticed it in her book shelves and read a particular story in it. Several months later, I lived a month with a family waiting for a job to be open. They had this book. To fill my time, I read it from cover to cover. It was the first book I ever read that gave a an inkling of who I am. The greatest struggle was the preface that gives the word useage information. When you have this clear enough, just start reading. In Texas, and in New MExico in the 80's, there was a Urantia Readers group wherever I lived. We met weekly and read round the circle.

Its limitation is that is is solely about the physical worlds. The only human author is the Mighty Messenger.

No other book gave me as much as this one for many years.

Thank you so much for the helpful info, I have ordered the book from our local Borders store, looking forward to beginning, I will be patient with myself and give me that chance to have a great relationship with the energy of the Book. Blessings, Sharon
