best methods for lucid dreaming

I have not actively tried to achieve lucid dreaming in a while. When I did I found the best method was just using my intension to lucid dream as I was going to sleep. Also I tried to be aware during the day if anything seemed really off (people I have not seen in 20 years, being back in school or an old job, etc, etc, etc). This awareness would then carry into my dreams and I would sometimes then become aware in my dreams as I noticed things being really off.

To my point,
What are the best, most reliable methods you know for achieving lucid dreaming?

If this topic has been gone over on the board just let me know where.

Hi Rich,

A few months ago, I posted a msg on the Resources board with a great link to a Lucid Dreaming website, its post #73052, dated 6/21.

I use intention and a little self-hypnosis, which seem to work well for me.

Happy dreaming,
DesertWolf

Hi Rich
I am told that some fresh Rosemary (herb) under your pillow will induce lucid dreaming. Not tried it myself, but it might be worth a go

Another thought - you can try Danburite under your pillow. I haven't try this, but I've heard that it works. Remember to cleanse and charge the crystal beforehand.

Otoharo!

rich, IPM methods worked for me but it is so easy and automatic that it is hard to remember the details. Coll said dreams can come from so many levels. They may result from the food you ate. From your ego staging a dierce distraction. From your soul with a message. From other spirit sources with messages. it is a lot like Reiki. The more open you are to spirit levels the more likely you are to hear them. Lucidity is just a part of this process. Intent works as it does in Reiki. Being out of your head is the best state to be in, because it does not use intellect, intellect tries to block it. the more you can let spirit in the more lucid you will be. That has been my experience.

Hello Rich, have you tried working with Angels? Choose an angel, visualise its colours and form, then ask and invoke the angel to protect you and guide your spirit [or soul body] while you sleep to show you whatever it is you need to know.
Have sweet dreams

Love and best wishes
Denise.

I think the best method is the one that works best for you. As with anything of this nature people's minds grasp things different ways. What one person can radiate with another may not. If you try one method for awhile and don't appear to be successful after x length of time then try another.

I took a day long seminar about dreaming last year, with the intention of learning to remember more of my dreams. But I have to say I haven't been very diligent about following "the method".

Basically you consistently prepare to go to sleep each night with the intention to have a lucid dream, and keep a notebook and pencil by your bedside to record what you remember as soon as you wake up. The idea is to write, draw, or scrawl what you remember very quickly, before your rational mind wakes up enough to filter or edit your memory of it.

Theoretically, with practice, lucid dreaming will come easier. It's not something that happens overnight. :)

Rich,

I had the opportunity the other day to chat with a most interesting friend who has been doing a great deal of dreamwork. Although it's not lucid dreaming per se, he has found Robert Moss' second and third books illuminating (says the first one is pretty basic). I've posted the link in Resources.

There is also a good article in the current Shaman's Drum on precognitive dreaming/dreaming for healing.

Bright blessings; hail Eris!
