red rose would signify love and passion. Forcing a needle through it would be like hurting someone he is romantically involved with.

Dear Alamelu,
The person most able to interpret your dream is you. Since it is your dream what you think about it is most important. The fact that it bothers you suggests to me that you have already interpreted it on some level.
Sometimes it is good to get suggestions because it opens ideas up ( like free asociation) but sometimes it can lead you astray, down a path you wouldnt go yourself. So perhaps it is best to consider what it might mean to you before you get input from others. :)
Dreaming of piercing a rose could have a very simple Freudian type interpretation ( the act of intercourse) or something totally different such as the act of repairing something that is treasured. Although there may be universal meaning to symbols, there are differences from one person to another.
Hope this helps.
peace & joy,
holobon

Red roses usually signify love and romance.
Needles can signify emotional hurt and distress and the need to mend something in a relationship.
Thats as far as I can help!
Love and Light,
Evie.

alamelu,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- cruel?
- I suppose if a living flower were a sentient being then I would agree that piercing it with a needle with no apparent 'helpful intention' could be considered cruel
- if this was a 'cut flower' then perhaps the meaning is somewhat different??
>:-}}
- so, what does the rose symbolize to you?? And the needle?? There are some classic interpretations of roses of various colors, shapes, and with specific numbers of petals
- perhaps piercing the rose symbolizes 'loss of innocnece' in some manner?? But whose innocence??
- remember, even your son appearing in a dream could be aspects of your own psyche and not actually your son
>:-}}
- as a shot in the dark, so to speak, is someone thinking about getting a tattoo??

alamelu,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- red is considered symbolic of, among other dynamics, sublimation
- this would apply to the rose as well as symbolic of such dynamics as completion, perfection, etc

I cant interpret your dream -but others have already stated the usual universal signifigance of roses, needles and colors.
but you must interpret these things for yourself. Your meanings can be different if you have a repulsion for roses for example. Also if you are a sewer a needle might litterally be repair and or creation. your own life circumstances and interests will affect how your dreams can be interpreted.
For example in some cultures red is the color of marriage and white is the color of mourning.
Also Carl Jung believed that all people in our dreams were representative of ourselves. But not everyone holds to that view.

Namaste FK..
I hate to pluck a flower from a plant, that sensitive I am! So first n foremost I saw cruelty, without getting deeper into the meaning. But from the posts that I have received here, things are more are less clear now. My son had an emotional letdown recently and he badly wanted the situation to be repaired.. I think I just read what was going on in his mind..I thank everyone who wrote back on this.

alamelu,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- 'emotional letdowns' can be learning situations - though not necessarily involving 'loss of innocence or naivete' (which may be harder lessons)
