witch dream

I dreamed I was in a house & perhaps another building where I was approached by a witch. She gave me a gift & later on I remember finding a note/invitation from her after she had left. I was a bit afraid of this person once I read the invitation & realized she was really a witch & had the impression that it was not going to be easy to get her out of my life. There is a vague memory of someone else, a friend perhaps, who left an invitation also. Cant remember enough to say if this was a good witch bad / witch scenario or not, but it the witch on the broom seemed intimidating & definitely the main character in the dream. While I was in the shower I saw her out the partially opened window riding on a broom & looking in at me with a wicked smile. Thereafter I tried to get away from her which angered her since she seemed to feel it was rejection although I was just afraid of her & then I decided to just get it over with & confront her & find out what she wanted as that was probably the only way to get rid of her. The telephone woke me at that point & so the dream was not completed.

peace & joy,
holobon

holobon,

/*\ Namaste :-}}

- perhaps some sort of issues with doing Reiki (or other things) and your "religious training" or background? Some sense of being 'seduced' by what seems 'wicked'??

My first thought was shadow, an aspect of yourself that is neither good nor bad in and of itself, but perhaps an aspect that you have not examined. Thus, an invitation to examine some type of witch archetype aspect of the self. This could relate to magic, or power. Shadow always has a gift for us, as the witch did in your dream. One thing I might be tempted to do is to sit with a piece of paper and quickly write all the words that come to mind when you say the word "witch" and see what comes up.
Good Luck,
Feather

Dear Firekeeper,
Hmmm. I will let the line play out a bit on that perspective & see if anything bites! But it wouldnt be surprising, especially after posting here about leaving the church, etc.

The writing excercise is quite a good idea Feather & I will try that as it is often revealing.
Might very well indicate a shadow side.
But, if I see any tornadoes appear, Im grabbing my red shoes & getting outta here!! :)

- there can be all sorts of Shadow issues when such personally fundamental issues get stirred up

- including those associated with one's Golden Sahdow

Hi Holobon!

The book is called "The Invitation" by Oriah Mountain Dreamer (same as the poem) and in it she merely expands on why she wrote the poem and it's meaning for her. All about living fully and in the now. The thing about it for me, is that she's able to describe feelings so well.

Hope you're finding meaning on your witch dream :-)

~ Blessed be
Nats

appreciate the input all

Well, still working on this one & all your comments resonated. Appears to be a very rich resource & still exploring it. Been trying to make a difficult decision in real life. Im drawn to the decision that is not very wise, very risky & unconventional. Not my usual choice. So this dream does fit in many ways. Your input was valuable.
