dream of distant relative

Last night I had a dream about a cousin of mine, whom I haven't seen for like 25 years. The last time anyone heard from him was like 18 years ago, he had contacted his parents saying he was in Colorado Springs and was in trouble and needed money. This was the last anyone spoke to him. He and I had been very close during our teenage years, and I haven't thought of him in years. In the dream, I was in a large house, my kids who are grown were there along with a whole bunch of people I don't know. As I was standing in this room, all of a sudden I looked around and he (my cousin) was standing next to me and put his arm around me. The next thing I knew was that he was gone and I didn't see him anymore. It's got me totally bugged cuz I can't figure out what this is. Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks.

~~Peace~~
Joanne

wolflady,

/*\ Namaste :-}}

- from a Jungian perspective, single dreams are tricky - this is where dream diaries are realy helpful - give one the possibility for 'threads'

- keep in mind that very often the 'characters' in our dreams are aspects of ourselves

- is there anything about yourself you see in your cousin - or vise versa? Any 25 year olde issues? It sounds as if in some respects this cousin is distant only in miles (which play little or no role in dreams)

Dear Wolflady,
Your cousin reached out to you & embraced you in this dream. That strikes me as reassuring & supportive, whatever the cause of the dream. You may not be able to reach any definite conclusions about what it "means" but maybe some possibilities come to mind. But isnt it the connection that matters most? Your dream made me smile as it reminds me that even when we forget consciously, other layers of our perception & spirit do not.
peace & joy,
holobon
