Dream mountain.

A few years ago i had this dream wich i woud like some thoughts on.

I was at the base of a large mountain, and had as a goal to reach the top. So i went, walked for a long time.
Once in a while i encounterd something, had to do somehing. (theese things did not seem important in the dream, just things that had to be done.) Somewhere along the way i noticed that someone was travelling alongside me, helping me with the tasks that i encounterd, i coud not see or hear the person, but all the same i knew,, felt the being there.

Finally after many stops we reached the top of the mountain, and i turned to thank my companion. but he/she was nowhere to be found.

So i continued alone and came to a large freeway with cars speeding past at high speeds, i saw an un occupied car on the other side of the road, so i crossed the road to it and got in. just as i was picking up speed, a police patrol pulled up alongside me and told me i was not allowed to continue. I remember feeling sad and cheated

And thatīs when i woke up.
At the time of this dream i was activly practicing MBA (mobile body awareness) to eventually be able to have a successful OBE.

So, any thoughts? ideas as to what this oddball dream ment?

esoel,

/*\ Namaste :-}}

- I generally caution on making too much out of single dreams (and especially years later and more especially if the dream had not been written down in a diary at the time)

- if recounting it now only from "memory" I would have some doubts about the validity of the 're-told' content of the dream due to forgetting and other factors

- but, since you ask?? This one strikes me as perhaps reflecting that Mindfulness skills still needed development at that time.

- there are Dream Yoga practices that might be useful -

- see: the tibetan yogas of dream and sleep by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche

Greetings firekeeper.

I do have the dream written down, as was my habit at the time,
but i agree with you not to make too much of a single dream.
So i think i will dig out my dream book to see what else i dreamed at the time,
one often reacurring theme in many dreams was waking up in another house, going about the morning things as usual, and after a while realizing that "Hey, this is not where i live" and then waking up.

I remember one extreme dream of the sort, it started out the same, me waking up and going through the morning stuff in another house, then waking up. As i woke up i noticed i was late for work (in this part i woke up in the place i lived in at the time) and hurried to get to work. as i got to the door, i finally woke up from the dream.
Well, i'll see what else i'v written down and perhaps post a few more.

Andreas,

/*\ Namaste ;-}}

- reporting a dream within a dream (waking up from one dream into another before actually leaving the sleep state is one type of level two dream

- one may even have additinal levels of dreaming

- I usually pay a bit more attention to multi-level dreaming

esoel,

/*\ Namaste :-}}

- you might try Stephen Laberge's book on lucid dreaming and also Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche's book: Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep (which includes a regimen of practices designed to help one master one's dreams)

Hello again Firekeeper,
i found my dream book, and thought iīd add a dream or two from the same period.

This one i had the night after the mountain dream.

First, emptyness, then in a bit i see a slowly revolving telescope on a tripod, it seems to be looking for something. After a while it settles on me,
and at that instant it rushes towards me so that i see the whole lens up close, in the lens i see a huge eye that seems to be pleased to have found me, at this time i woke up, when i tried to re enter the dream all i coud see was the huge eye in the lens of the telescope, it was not frightning in any way, just felt like it was determend and pleased to have found me.

This dream was from much later on.

Me and a couple of friends are playing land hockey at a concrete court. And as we finish up and walk to the car i notice a house that i remember, i recall that the man living there has promised me a look inside.

So i ask the lady standing at the door and she says forcefully no to my request, i tell her that i was promised a visit, so she goes into the house to confirm this and then lets us in.
I say hello to the man (an old gentleman)who welcomes us and says he has some buisness to conclude and will join us soon, so we are usherd into a room facing the street we were playing land-hockey in. The room is filled with books on two walls, My friends stand looking out the window and i go to examin the books, after a while i find an interesting title, and at that moment the old man walks in, and i wake up.

There it is, a few more oddball dreams to decifer.

I think that i read about Stephen Labergeīs ideas some years ago, but i will have to look it up again, and as for Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche's ideas, they looked very interesting on the website
thanks for the tips.

Sometime back, I had a dream of a mountain, I followed that path that spirled up, the ledge got narrower and narrower, until ther were less than fingerholds remaining, but I kept going. I reached the top and on the top there was a platue of white quartz like the pebbles on a driveway, but within that in the middle there was a geometric shape of different coloured gems, kind of like a mandala, but each section was a different gemstone, it was circular, so I sat in the middle and in a summoning sit I raised my hands and 'did reiki'.
Also in the dream a big huge tree I'd climbed helped me to the mountain, since it was far off.
It said something, but I can't remember what.
It usually the same with other dreams, where I read or something of significance is said to me.
You dreaming of the mountain, reminded me of it.
I remember the details were sharp, like I was really there, the air so clear and fresh. I feel peacful thinking of it.
