It can be chilling & upsetting to experience a death in your dreams. Maybe we should focus more on the message of hope it may contain. An online article from CNN included this interpretation:
"Death in dreams can represent change in the dreamer's life -- the end of an old issue or situation to make way for something new".

Shamans were\are, traditonally, the interpreters of the spiritual and psychological and psychic life of 'their people' in addition to being a 'healer'.
