Hello all,
I had a dream last week that I was at a feast for the dead.
I was sitting at a picnic table and it was alot like madi gra except there wasn't a parade.
I was sitting at the picnic table and people which I knew on some level were bikers were throwing treats.
I then found myself in front of a castle front which had eroded away and only the the foundation and front half remained. In front of that was an alter with a buffalo head. I remember looking at it through tall grass which had more treats in it that I knew not were not for me. In other words I wasn't supposed to eat them.
Next I'm at the beach and there is a float right up on the shore bobbing in the waves washing on shore. There were people receiving treats there as they were hanging off the side of this flot. I look to my right and there is what looks like a tiki bar. The entire front has gifts but these are not candy treats. These were shells. Once again I knew not to take these, so I just admired them.
Then I walk back to the castle structure and the buffalo head falls over. I"m not sure but I lifted my hands and said an ancient prayer that I'd learned for clearing rooms.. The prayer was, In the name of the Mother/Father God, the Child and the Holy Spirit, I Am claims this space for the Christ..
Then as I spoke, my voice changed to male and I spoke this prayer in Latin!
I walked away from there and came to an open air market.. No walls, but a top on it.. As I"m walking a man comes up to me with inscense and offer them to me.. Big long three foot sticks on a paper covering. I lift them up and say the prayer again. I look to him and say, Do you know what I said?
He smiles at me and says, you said the prayer you said a minute ago, but in Latin.
Then I say the prayer three or four more times in Latin and wake up..
Past life recall, or more? What do you guys think??

Well, I got major goose bumps reading this! The prayer really got me buzzing!!! Is this a prayer that you have said in those words in this lifetime?
My first impression is past life dream.
Was the essence of the dream as if watching a movie?
Could you describe what you were wearing?
I believe those two things can be connected with past life recall. How did you feel when you woke up? Have you ever studied Latin?
Love you,
Feather

jahnavi,
Hi,
Latin is a 'dead language' so perhaps apropo for a 'feast for the dead. :) The dream strikes me as some melding of a wake and the Mexican holiday, Día de Los Muertos. The buffalo head reminds me a bit of the 'stag's head' pagans of some traditions would mount over the doorway to their dwellings (or elsewhere on the residence). All-in-all, my initial take is inner confusion over traditional religious teachings or values and on-going wanderings among 'new age' teachings, hence the apparent need for a "protective" prayer. The treats? Perhaps rewards for not straying. Or, perhaps "temptations"??
:)
Cheers,
RC

Hey Feather,
Thanks for your response.
I was speaking in a deep voice as if I were a man. Or I should say my voice got deeper. I didn't see what I was wearing but I felt more like an observer and when I awoke I thought of myself as a monk.
The prayer of protection to me is more about the blessing than the need for protection.
I"ve never studied Latin but did find the next best thing online for my prayer. Instead of, In the name of the Mother/Father, the Child and the Holy Spirit, I AM claims this space for the Christ,
I now cross people ( in my mind as a blessing and for the energy that millions of people repeating have created) with the prayer in Latin,
In Nomine Patris
Et Fille
Et Spiritus Sanctus..
Pretty cool and it really feels like a blessing to me.
Not to change subject but last night I had another strange dream. I was dreaming that I was saying I would channel someone that had passed on. I said, "Of course you went to heaven right?" Then I let the spirit control my body for a moment as I held my hand up and my thumb went into the down direction. As if the spirit were lost.
I felt kinda sad and said, Oh.... Then started saying prayers to help the soul move into the proper realm......
How is that for strange?
Kinda cool though too because its a bit like an off shoot of what type of work I do with souls who are not ascended into heaven..
Also dreams of crystals in planters that had the roots of plants growing on them. Felt like I was in Arizona. Maybe a work shop. I sorted through the potted plant and took home a rainbow flourite and another crystal, purple..
Then a man with a multi coloured cup like thing that moved energetically. A woman brought it to him, in which then it swirled outward oddly as she poured it to the man whom filled my cup. He filled my cup several times and I realized that it would continue to overflow as he shared his drink with me.. The cup was swirly coloured.. How odd eh?
No need to try and decipher that one.. A bit confusing I know..lol.. I remember thinking.. Magic!
Anyway, I've not had the opportunity to ask a girlfriend of mine about the Latin dream but she is very cool and used to do Remote viewing for the government so I feel pretty optimistic that she can figure it out for me. Oh Yes, and I too felt that it was about a past life. I was quite aware that I didn't want to touch the treats being thrown about. Just the ones that were given to me were ok to have a taste of.
Bright blessings my beautiful feather!

Dear Jahavni,
Your dream doesn't seem like my experience of having a past life memory through a dream. When I had my dream, there was nothing dreamlike about it. Just the straight forward memory of an experience. Nothing mysterious, no symbolism, nothing like that.
One thing that stood out about it, was the light source. In most dreams, light seems to come from everywhere. In my past life memory, the light came from a single source, just as it does in real life.
So, in other words, I have to agree with RC's opinion of your dream.
Blessings,
Roxy

Jahnavi,
/*\ Namaste :-))
- so, while you are dreaming, what feelings are attached to all this activity?
- as you are dreaming, why do you feel you are doing a 'clearing" and 'claiming' the space in the name of christ?
- remember, it is more than likely the 'space' to which you refer is your own Psyche and Unconscious, afterall

Hello FK,
I felt like I was looking on upon myself and felt a bit like a curious onlooker. I seemed to know what I was saying. I'm not sure why I was saying the prayer, I definately felt no fear in the dream.
Blessings,
J

Hey RC,
Thanks for the intepretation. I"ll take it into consideration. I feel though if I were to be having doubts about myself in regards to my belief I"d have had that dream a long time ago. Not so much doubting as spiritually expanding and growing. Anything is possible though.
There was also no fear in the dream but I did seem curious about the goings on as I moved from place to place.
The prayer I was saying was from a really cool book I was shown from a student I connected strongly with. I went on to get it on loan from the library.
Loved the initiation infomation provided for the montly full moons etc. I was particularly drawn to the prayer because I believe that the more people have used and repeated it, the stronger it gets. Lots of energy behind it. A bit like smudging I suppose.
There is very little ritual that I love, but I love almost intoning that prayer when I clear the rooms I use for healing/attuning classes because I feel like it elevates me. I can definately feel the difference in the room too and sometimes smudging is just not available.
Blessings and thanks again for the interpretation!

Jahnavi,
Hi,
You said: "There was also no fear in the dream but I did seem curious about the goings on as I moved from place to place"
In dreams, 'curiosity' can be interpretted to reflect 'uncertainty'. And, doubts that we may have repressed to not have any timeline for being revealed iin dreams. Sometimes they fester ofr quite a while in the Unconscious.
Also, are you certain that the second time you spoke the prayer it was Latin? Do you recall, exactly, any of the words? Were there words of Latin in the book you mention as the source of the 'prayer'?
Cheers,
RC

Jahnavi,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- do you not find it a bit curous that you repeatedly deny fear feelings\content for this dreaming??
- especially when I made no mention of fear (or any other feeling for that matter)

Hey RC,
Thanks for the second look at the dream. I really don't know much about them so its great to get your impressions.
I don't remember any of the words from the dream. I spoke them very fast. It was the man in my dream that told me I was speaking Latin.
But what remained was how clear the dream felt when i awoke abruptly and then the impression I had of myself as a man- dressed in brown robes of some order.
I wasn't wearing them in my dream. My voice also went male.
The dream didnt' feel like a past life, the Latin I was speaking I felt was a rememberance from a past life in some religious order.
That was the one thing I felt like I came away with, with any certainty.
Blessings,
J

Hey FK,
Anything is possible.
I'm assuming it was the reference to the dreams content where I said in the name of Christ that I was clearing.
Even now I'm working on refining the statement to be more in line with what I want to experience.
I like the prayer in latin. The repetition through the years seems to draw lots of power and I like taping into that stream of energy.
I"d like to change the wording to be more in harmony with my own belief systems but I'd need a friend with lots of experience with latin and don't know anyone.
It's possible someone else mentioned fear in their posting and thats why I mention it in yours. I"m definately not fear free, not in my waking life and that most assuredly pops up in my dream life.
Most notably for me is frustration.
RC mentions that being curious as I seemed to be in my dream that means uncertanty - maybe a bit of fear.
I't is all good. First I'd have to identify what it is about my spiritual works that are bringing this uncertanty. Perhaps its my own lack of clarity on what it is i'm trying to bring into fruitation my role as a healer.
Thanks for your thoughts,
J

Jahnavi,
Hi.
It is more than likely that the man in the dream reflects your Animus. Since 'you' were the 'narraror' in the dream I might feel it is not a past life dream. In the case of a past life dream the narrator would not be 'you' but a largely unfamiliar figure; yet you would feel connected with this character and wake up recalling the events thru the 'senses' of this character yet feeling as well that they were your own.
Yet, even such a scenario as this might not be a past life dream, so to speak. If dreams reflect Karma, and I tend to feel they do, then past life is, karmically speaking, irrelevant since we bring all our accumulated Karma with us from one life intoi the next.
Cheers,
RC
