I have this reoccurring dream that my husband and I are either looking at buying a house or living in a house where the floors are extremely unleveled. The backyard is also very unleveled and I'm standing at the back of the house looking down at either an empty pond or where a pool used to be.

We aren't currently looking for a new house and aren't having any marital problems.

Hi,

Do you think it's possible that the house could represent aspects of yourself? Are there any areas in your life that feel out of balance? The backyard and pool seem to suggest to me the beginning or foundations, especially as you are looking down at them.

I'm sure others will be able to help more than I can; but this is what I thought when i read your post. As I understand it recurring dreams are often the most relevant.

- what are you feeling as the dreamer while the dream unfolds each time (not necessarily the same as what you feel about the dream when you awake and begin 'thinking')

- from a Jungian perspective, the appearance of your husband in the dream each time might suggest Animus issues (not issues with your husband, per se)

- the unlevelness of the floors and grounds might not be that critical at the moment

- the 'hole' where a pond or pool might have been?? What is that all about??

- you say the floors are unlevel but have not said anything else about the inside of the house - this might be more important - the things you don't say\feel

- that you are standing outside the house looking down at it might suggest a somewhat distanced and analytical stance vis a vis your Unconscious (houses, especially, are taken as symbols of one's unconscious) - so to be inside a house often suggests better access to unconscious material than being outside a house, for example

LOL! I'm not sure if my life has ever been completely balanced and not sure if I'd know it if it were.

I feel uncomfortable about the house/yard and just wish not to buy it or live there.

When I see the pond it has a clay bottom, flowers around the edges, but no water.
The actual pool is gone, but the dirt/clay outline is still there. Got me what that is all about. LOL!

I've had this dream twice in a week and once a couple years ago. Can't remember what was going on in my life then because it didn't seem significant at the time.
