Dear Friends,
So I'm in this dream construct and I find myself following a herd of elephants. This was more of a sudden vignette dream-wise. Anyway, I was following these creatures for a while when their path lead to a low kindof box canyon with a hotel resort perched on top blocking their way. I went inside to see what sort of place this was. I quickly realized that this place somehow capitalizes in a bad way on the elephant pilgrims that end up there . I was not inside very long before I was confronted by the head manager who appeared in reaction to my angry feelings about the harvesting of the pilgrim elephants. I had not been there long enough to hatch any real plan against the place. He was big and spoke to me briefly. I can't remember what her said.
This is where it's get's gross. Did you ever see that picture in the Guinness Records Books with the guy smoking like a carton of cigs at once? The next thing I know my mouth is equally cram packed with long jagged blades of glass. I was bleeding profusely. Only with mindful effort was I able to breathe out of the one nostril that was not clogged and bloody. It took the longest time to gingerly pull them all out and spit/cough out the smaller glass pieces. When I was done my maw was totally ravaged. Sections of gum and teeth missing. Upper and lower palettes, back of throat and tongue stabbed were to hamburger. The sensations were so real.
I picked up the bigger teeth and gum parts I thought the hospital might find useful to put back in and spent the rest of the dream trying to get to the hospital.
When I woke up I could still feel that ravaged swollen sensation in my mouth. And the taste of the glass pieces.
I look forward to your input.
namaste,
Michael

arati,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- look to elephant symbolism vis a vis your projections onto elephants or projections manifesting as elephants
- interesting that a herd of elephants becomes 'pilgrims'
- might the dream reflect some aspect of your life's pilgrimage??
- also, the pilgrims were being thwarted on their journey? Have you been feeling thwarted??
- you said the pilgrims were being harvested? Any sense of what that was about??
- all the carnage to your mouth, etc?? Have said anything really hurtful to someone else lately?? Or felt like doing so??
- or, have you been having 'cutting' thoughts about yourself recently??
- or.........too much talk about circumcision?? bagl

Dear Firekeeper,
Thanks for your input; alot to pick thru there.
As far as the pilgrim part; in my sense of the intuitive experience I was not really directly connected to them group or tribe-wise. In fact now that you mention it, it was a small herd and I was following them closely from behind. I never really saw their faces. They could have been rhino/elephant or similar creatures from past or present.
As far as being thwarted; recent events has left me feeling finally unthwarted so there could be some element there perhaps. But is was not so much that I was thwarted but viciously attacked. Laid low with little provocation.
Harvested pilgrims: I was not long before being confronted by the "manager" (it was a he, "her" was a typo) but did see some 'physical' evidence of their rendered parts used in the construction and furnishing of the place. Mostly it was intuitive beyond that.
Hurtful words: yes i have laments but who does not? Nothing recent of note.
Cutting thoughts: Hmm... cutting thoughts + mouth + circumcision. Clearly the sage coyote got into a cache of fat agave worms to pen that one. Or ate a bad hotdog.
habenero bagl!
(heh- heh..hee....) Anyhoo...(heh..hee) back to topic:
There must be some "real time" issue(s) at hand you would think but intuitively I'm feeling also there could be some pastlife or futurelife component(?) It seems like I was an advocate for the creatures and was swiftly attacked for it.

Michael

Michael,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- remember, it is most likley all the characters in the dream refelct aspects of yourself
- and actions and details may often be symbolic or otherwise metaphorical (the cutting thoughts\glass bit, for example)
- if we stand up for ourselves (or fail to do so) we may be set upon by others, true
- but, we can also be harder on ourselves than anyone else if we fail to stand up for ourselves or do the right thing, etc

- don't do hot dogs or habeneros

Dear Firekeeper,
Perhaps a classic case of admission by omission.
Not to worry though. The secret is safe here. Plus who nowadays even cares to listen in on a lone racer and a coyote conversing on the side of the road?

Dear Michael,
Secret safe. hmmm agave worms? hmmm tequila! Did you want a sedative or a drink to numb pain of elephant mutilation ahead of you. And you're pissed off about it but you have no control and grasss? hmmm who eats grass, sheep, cows, buffalo, why are you eating grass? Are you a vegetarian in real life and why would grass cut you? Could be about glass cutting you by a chinese doctor? Sounds like maybe Firekeeper hit it right on the head. (Couldn't resist put that down) Or are you saying things you feel guilty about? a hotel place ahead where people sleep like hospital suggesting overnight stay and someone would not send out a skinny weakling only a big burly guy to check out a herd of elephants tromping through their town, suggesting intimidation possibly to veer the elephants off the path. Or a guy who gets big after getting neutered. Alot of symbolism there man! Interesting dream although I was being silly about it.
Peace,
Prosperity

Forgive me for being so late to this, Michael. "one nostril not bloody and clogged" made me think of yoga breathing...completing the ying/yang cycle through our bringing in essence and leaving go what we don't need.
"It took the longest time to gingerly pull them all out and spit/cough out the smaller glass pieces. When I was done my maw was totally ravaged. Sections of gum and teeth missing. Upper and lower palettes, back of throat and tongue stabbed were to hamburger. The sensations were so real."
Bits and pieces of yourself....what are you willing to give up.....to find....whatever you're looking for
You'd attempted to "go to battle" for someone else....and ended up being faced with what you're willing to sacrifice and what you truly need....not as horrible a dream as it might have felt....just you giving your all in finding a better way for others. Forgive me for sticking my nose in your business... sweet friend. Thank you for sharing...

"Forgive me for sticking my nose in your business..."
Need not ever say that my friend. I laid it out there.
I feel that the cross hairs of your butterfly intuition found some real purchase in this case.

Dear Prosperity,
Your post / take on this is nutty-er than a walnut falafel.
While it does nothing to bring Light to a traumatic experience of mine...
.......it does give some comfort to know that when it comes to out of the box knutty thinking at the Reiki Cafe....
....I have been bested and relinquish my Knutty Crown (on bended knee) to you.

Dear Arati,
Was it your dream that you speak of as being traumatic or some earlier experience? Dreams can't hurt you. You do not need to bend down to me. I'll admit I was being bad. It was funny though. Sorry if I offended you or are you being nutty too or making a joke? On this site, it's hard to tell. Dreams are so very personal so bravo to you for sharing yours!
Peace,
Prosperity

Michael, in one spot (rereading, of course) you mention possible future connections. Could your dream connect with what the Buddhist monks are dealing with now? Their protesting.....their temple (the resort) no longer theirs to worship in... being used by others who think they prevent them from their pilrimage....and what you experienced....perhaps you were doing so for every one of them?

Synchronicity at work?
I myself had an elephant dream. Having not read your original post, until posting my own, I found it an amazing concidence.
Since its habitually said that elephants never forget, maybe the elephant is a symbol of a reminder of something that either each of us has forgotten, or let ourselves forget, for convenience sake, but know now that we have to deal with. Its too big to hide from anymore. Now its time to deal?
As for the rest of the dream, I haven't a clue.
I heard something of freud and elephants, though I can't for the life of me remember the context or the meaning of such. bagl.

Dear ponderings,
Could be onto something there.
Your post made me relive the dream for a moment. Now that I think of it i don't know what became of them. Perhaps I got hung up there and they passed thru it.

Michael

Dreams are just dreams. They really don't mean anything and analizing them will only drive you crazy to find their hidden meanings.
They are just a way of your mind taking a holiday on your time.
