I dreamt that an elephant in labour was in my sisters livingroom. The poor animal was very distressed, and since my sisters could do nothing for it, they left the room. I stood there and placed my hands on its abdomen and 'gave' it reiki. In no time at all, the animal dropped its calf.
At all times, the animal and sitting room where spatialy the same as normal but there was also plenty of space.
Any takers with interpetation?

I get a very peaceful feeling from reading your dream, jaguar. Are you perhaps part of a birthing process, that others might avoid, because of their lack of understanding and fear....
You were doing the right thing.....healing to the highest good and doing no harm....sharing it with a being much larger than ourselves, but still in need of assistance. Plenty of space....we've the whole universe of healing....birthing....

jaguar,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- from a Jungian perspective the elephant suggests power, wisdom, and libido (among any number other aspects frm cultures around the globe)
- the animal and its 'qualities are seen as symbolic aspects of your psyche and unconscious
- one might say you have been gestating some personal issue for quite some time (elephant pregancies are not atypically of 22 months duration)
- that you facilitated the birthing with Reiki suggests that your connection to Reiki practices is affecting you at the unconscious level
- the calf, (symbolic of some complex coming to the surface for you) is something of an unknown and as yet not a fully matured process - also, its longevity is unknown
- so, one might venture that how you care for 'your calf' will play a major role in its development
- hope this helps in some way
Reiki All Around,
All Blessings,
Firekeeper

Dear jaguar,
One can over analyze a construct experience. Especially with animals; Mindfulness is key. They are great teachers in that regard.
I'd be quite honored to be an elephants midwife.
Namaste,
Michael

arati,
Hi,
We were gifted with brains capable of analytical thinking so to ignore development of these abilities seems almost wicked, or at least merely lazy. Over analysis, I agree, may at times be a waste of energy that might be better used in action, compassionate action to be more precise. And, of course, to suggest an over analysis is a personal judgement.
I am not ignoring the role of intuition or the need to develop that as well. Dream interpretation, afterall, has perhaps as much to do with intuition as analysis. And, I do not feel that analysis and intuition are incompatible in the slightest when mangaged together mindfully.
Cheers (under-analysis may well leave one in the dark),
RC

Thanks for the input you guys.
Yes there is something that is bothering me for an awful long time, My doing reiki and the elephant giving birth in the dream is this 'idea' in my concious underconcious that I'm about to acknowledge maybe just to myself. My sisters departure before the grand finale is my being not ready to share this 'idea' yet.
I liked firekeepers input best. It hit truer to the mark.
Though ponderings take is something to acknowledge with wisdom/patience and wonder.

Dear RC,
Indeed I agree; finding that harmony between analysis and intuition.
Perhaps my post was short to the point of being cryptic. I can't think of a single thing that i don't analyze to some in depth degree or another. I've done my share of over-analyzing. And will do so in the future but hopefully to a lesser degree.
; )
Namaste,
Michael
