Dear friends,
I'm duely thankful for this new board. I keep needing answers to my strange dreams almost every morning. Except for a few mornings when I've had a sound sleep, I wake up with a feeling of being in a nightmare. Most of the times I remember these dreams quite precisely when I wake up. They appear to be more negative in ratio v/s positive dreams. I've seen such mornings in most of my childhood days. There are phases when these nightmares/dreams vanish for a day or two or months & then they come back again troubling me. Most of the mornings I feel tired & restless & feel as if someone drenched all my energy.
I do believe that these dreams are trying to tell me something. At times, I get a full story as a movie. More like a real movie. And at times some strange messages. For example, last night I saw that I was in a driver's seat & some old person(male) navigating me. He told me that he is taking me where I want to go. But instead he took me to some mystic lady, who was worshipping some mystic garlands. After a while she was done with her ritual, she told something to another lady. This another lady told me "Stay away from "Wolves" for a month. They can be a danger to you". I saw myself asking her "what do u mean by Wolves?". She replied, "Stay away from back answering or arguing for a month". I couldn't understand why she was relating wolves with arguing. But I saw myself following the guidance & caught myself doing it(questioning/arguing) this morning & then stopped it in the middle(thinking about the dream...:). Although the message was clear, does anyone know who these people could be & why did the lady compare "wolves" with "arguing"?. I don't mind having dreams which send me messages as positive guides but does anyone know why do nightmares keep chasing me, troubling my sleep?? Will really appreciate your help in unpacking this.
love & light,
VS

VS,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- characters in dreams are often aspects of ourselves including Shadow characters - those aspects that are not so desireable and which we try to repress and suppress yet which sneak thru from time to time anyhow
- or sometimes important (positive) aspects which we repress and which are trying to get our attention
- a dream diary is an excellent tool for finding threads from which to learn
>:-}}
- nightmares are often messages also and perhaps important ones about unresolved matters which are, of course, genenerally expressed symbolically in dreams
- so taking images or characters, including animals, literally may lead one astray
- as for wolves and arguing??
- make that a dog and perhaps the bark is louder than the bite??
- do we not sometimes bare our fangs in an arguement??
- do we not sometimes "go for the jugular"??
- are we not also sometimes the target of such behavior??
- animals in dreams also can symbolize other "lower" center issues, sexual drives for example (apart from relational love)
- but ultimately what the dreams mean to you is how you will end up dealing with the issues (Mindfully or otherwise)
- hope this helps,
reiki all around,
all blessings,
Firekeeper

Dear VS,
As Firekeeper pointed out, dreams are highly idiosyncratic. Having said that...
I don't necessarily see 'wolves' and 'arguing' as being directly related.
Wolf is, among other things, a teaching clan...perhaps a hint to seek one's own answers inside instead of appealing to outside "authority."
Bright blessings,

Hi VS,
Dream interpretation is intensely personal. What one symbol may mean to you will mean something totally different to someone else.
Keep a notebook by your bed and record your dreams in it whenever you remember them. Note color, messages, characters, environment, what you felt upon waking, etc. Look at the key phrases/words and try to determine what they mean to you. For example: butterfly may be metamorphosis, change, to some people, but may mean freedom, beauty to another. Find what *your* definition would be. Then take your personal meanings and put them together within the context of the dream and see what you come up with. You may be quite surprised!
With regard to the wolves - perhaps you have your definition already. You asked what is meant by "wolves" and were told "stay away from backanswering or arguing for a month". And indeed you did just that by catching yourself later in conversation, and stopping when you realized it. That is what interpreting your dreams is about. Finding your specific message, and following through with it.
As is often said with regard to Reiki "practice, practice, practice"! That also goes for dream work as well. Stick with it and your dreams will eventually make sense to you.
In light and love,
Featherpoint

namaste,
Having had a number of "car" dreams that I remembered, I tend to like that part. The car can be interpreted as that part of your life that you are in charge/have control over, as you are in the drivers seat.
:-)
But you say this "old person" (spirit guide?) is giving you directions to "where you want to go". How do you know you didn't want to go to the Mystic Lady? And why do you think that the Mystic Lady was anyone but yourself? Wouldn't it be great for you to realize that you have answers already at hand, once you trust that "mystic lady" inside?
Or, where did you think you were going that you didn't get to go to in your dream?

Thank you all for kindly replying to my questions. I'll keep these suggestions in mind & keep a dream diary now on as per your guidance. It's nice to know that dream interpretations differ from person to person & that every aspect of it, may have been repressed in my real life. That sounds so true. Repressed feelings are a quite major part of myself. I try to keep them to myself & not say aloud if I think it is going to break peace of mind for more than one person. Due to this they may be coming out in other ways(mainly in other conversations). I used to keep a journal to release such feelings before, but I stopped doing that quite some time back(thinking that writing them will give it a form & may cause more grief). May be I should start keeping a journal again.
thanks all again for being here,
love & light,
VS

Dear VS,
In nightmares, we do have unfinished business, as Firekeeper expressed. Actually, some believe they are unfinished dreams. What we need to do is finish the dream...you are off to a great start by questioning within the dream. You can try to go back into a dream if you wake still feeling like it was a nightmare...go back in and question until you get answers. Face the monsters and ask what they want.
Blessings,
Feather

Dear VS,
I have a friend who experienced very vivid nightmares for the majority of her life. She came from a challenging background with one crisis & stressor after another, from childhood through adult years..( I used to tell her that if she wrote a book about her life no one would believe it was true) There were many buried & unresolved issues & subjects she had not dealt with on a conscious level. When she finally did met the issues head on & started "blooming" into her true self, acknowledging & respecting her talents for example, the nightmares were less prevalent. They do pop up whenever she is under extra ordinary stress. This is NOT to say that this is true for you, all of us are different & dreams are highly individual. She is the only close friend that has been so affected by nightmares & so I decided to share this.
Dreams can alert us to something that we are ignoring but it can be challenging to figure them out because of the symbolism.
Sometimes, I wonder if we are just open to the dream rather than reject it, if this is enough to let it's mystery work for us.....
Some dreams do not make sense for years & then their meaning is realized.
peace & joy,
holobon
