The Reiki Cafe 

I think this castastrophe that is happing right now in america is a wake up call for the whole world. reiki healers are needed now more than ever. we should all pitch in and give some reiki to the poor earth and its peoples and animals that are all affected by hurricane katrina. i know im going to try to start a reiki circle to send some love. i hope we call realize the seriousness of whats going on a do our best as healers.

Im sure that many Reiki people are already sending to the hurricane survivors & the areas devastated by Katrina but organizing groups to send Reiki together is excellent. I cant imagine anyone not realizing the seriousness of this. Hopefully people will also donate to relief organizations so basics such as food, water, shelter,medications, etc will reach those in need. Good luck with your Reiki share.

I can tell you that they are definitely needed and that this event has impacted the nation as a whole.
I am not far from New Orleans and the situation is very strange w/so many displaced persons wondering what will become of them and their families - there is so much confusion (for lack of a better word).

Thanks again to all healers and energy workers who have been or will be sending healing energy and prayers to this area -- maybe a coordinated effort by all is a a possibility???(every sunady at 8:00 PM EST)??? for healing this area and the world in general over a long period of time.

Your post prompted a call to a local RM re any planned shares to focus on the Katrina disaster area but apparently there are none planned. That led me to consider if a disaster team of Reiki practitioners might be a reasonable outgrowth of Reiki circles, like an ad hoc comittee that goes into action when needed. Im wondering what others think about that idea.

One question, are you thinking ALL disasters or just Katrina?
Either way it seems to be very much in the spirit of reiki and a commendable idea.

Well, Katrina got me thinking about this but it would be up to the Reiki circle to decide what is best for them but maybe any disasters where large groups of humans are in emergency situations. Since that is pretty much a frequent happening, the group would have to decide what their focus would be. People have families & work schedules to consider, of course. But Katrina is a perfect example of a large scale event for which healing energy sent to the earth, the animals & any person who wishes it could be beneficial. Prayer groups might also be an idea. Im not in a circle at the present but thinking of getting back into one.

Do you think that coordinating the cafe to send healing to the area is feasible - i'm a relative newbie to the cafe and am hoping that it is not segmented or clickish but dont really know.

right now i think that unless people like us get together and give reiki to the world and the people, things are going to get much worse. what im wondering, if im doing reiki to myself or others does that help the world situation by residual effect or resonance? i hope so.
dear raykeed i think that trying to get people from the reiki cafe to cordindate times and days for mass reiki giving is a good idea and not segemented or clickish.

We all be reiki with ourselves allowing our energy to flow with all the globe, and each in our own corner in our own time zone, we all cover the whole all the time no coordinating needed. We just all are reiki all the time in our own way and time. Spirit coordinates this, orchestrates it.
