- in the past, I have occasionally referred to receiving and learing Reiju when I began Reiki

- what Sensei did with our group, one at a time, was quite like what you describe though not precisely so

- some of the aura work practices back then later played a part in the Distance Ketsueki-kokan practices I developed and offered here for several years

- but, as with all such practices (Reiju or whatever), individual variations spring up as fast as weeds (though many weeds bear beautiful flowers)

Ah yes, the age-old conundrum:
"Widdershins or Deosil?"

I suppose that would depend on whether you're doing the 'original Usui Reiki' version or the 'Essential Wiccan' version :-)

or alternatively,

in earlier traditions, deosil was for gathering the solar (yang-end-of-the-spectrum) energy, and widdershins, for gathering the lunar (yin-end-of-the-spectrum) energy

oops! I do believe my Celtic roots ase showing...

I was planning on saving that for my new, moneyspinning, "DemDryBones - hear the word of the Lord!" Charismatic Revivalist Reiki seminar (- in which I prove that Usui-sensei was Christian after all)

- but now that you've given away the secret jumon, well, I'll just have to come up with some other scam

- perhaps I could get away with pretending that the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai still actually survives today?
- and that I'm (conveniently) the only member willing to talk about its history and practices...?
No, I suppose that is too farfetched - no one would believe it, would they?
