Brain Wave Entrainment...

When the brain is stimulated with pulsed sounds (neuro-electrical activity via the nerves originating from the ears) the overall activity of the brain will respond to and align with these pulses (also called FFR - or frequency following response.) By selecting the desired role, the brain via the FFR can be naturally induced towards the selected brainwave states. The same benefits that are found in a deep mediation. Like any meditational practice, this will strengthen your ability to be a more open channel for Reiki... if you'd like to know more about this visit...www.smylen4u.com

I often have trouble getting into and sustaining those "low frequency" states of mind. How can I be sure than external stimulus will help me to do so? Any shared experiences would be helpful.

gatekeeper,

Hi.

Mind conditioning?? The Reverend Moon is said to have used mind conditioning. So, you can keep this one. lol There are no short cuts to the benefits of regular meditational practices.

Cheers,

jaguar,

Hi,

I am not sure you appreciate the nature of electroshock therapy. But correct me if I am in error. And, Electroshock therarpy is not dead and gone. And, it had nothing to do with conditioning the brain or re-aligning it or some such nonsense. Electroshock therapy, in essence, induced an acute state of short term amnesia to try and help break the cyclical nature of depressive ruminations and fears in some severe forms of depression. It is a severe 'treatment' and has significant dangers.

And, no telling what dangers there may be in this brain conditioning. Caveat healee.

lol

Cheers,

RC

Hi RC

It is nothing short of barbaric no matter who is performing it.

IMHO at any rate.

Rebecca,

Hi,

Yet, for a select few who suffered the most debilitating and recalcitrant psychotic depressions it was ameliorative to a degree that some folks would have the 'treatment' at semi-regular intervals. But, with all the powerful new drugs, such barbaric healing seems rarely used any more. Even so, our knowledge for really effectively dealng with chronic depressions remains in need of advancement.

Cheers,

RC

Dear RC,

At a time in my life when no anti-depressant was around that could help me, I was given electroshock treatments. It worked, and I found I had no ill effects in the long run, despite feeling disoriented immediately afterward.

I would think it would be more dangerous to have a suicidally depressed person without electroshock treatment...if that's the last course of action...than the electroshock itself.

Rock On!

shocking, to say the least.
On a more serious note, I can imagine why such an extreme source of therepy would be beneficial to said patient. Being shocked into an awarness other than the depressed state would bring relief from said depressed state. I myself when in the doldrems as a kid would hit my head of the wall, the pain would bring a said relief and for a little while things would be okay for a little while.
Others would go to a more extreme method, they'd cut themselves. Focus on the pain, and the control of the cut, would for a little while offset the depressed state and feelings of inadaquises that not being in control of a given situation would bring.
Other extreme methods would be the anorexic starving of own body.
These are all, when said and done, are physical control mechanisims. The subject under disscusion, is I think, more metaphysical in origin, and so less likely to pin down, and gives I think, less control of own self to individual and gives away the said control to a 2nd or 3rd party. This I think is more dangerous in the long run, than any self harm.
Of course, maybe I'm wrong.
