ponderings,

- 'Know'?? heheheheh
- I am 'ignorant' of a great many things.
- as such, any 'choice' I make may be made partially in the dark, as it were, and without full awareness of the past (especially decsions I made in past lives) and little or no knowledge of the future
- as such the knowledge basis for my choices is restricted
- without full awareness a fully free will cannot exist

oh, my.....so in essence....you're saying that we can never truly know whether we're making the right decisions for ourselves?
but you have studied.....I mean to know so much....
I just might need a break from our precious website...for I'm becoming more befuddled....nothing new for me, of course...but I won't give up trying to understand....
thanks for your patience with me...
maybe, if I give an example....I was raised in the Protestant Methodist religion....but even as a child....I "knew" that reincarnation was what was "right" for me...and that I couldn't believe in a God that would condemn others for loving without marriage or be condemned for being in the "wrong" religion....

and what I've learned on intuition has been thru getting my self out of the way when I have my hands on someone else....when I truly "listen" to what their body tells me....it shows me where to go. Oh, I used to have pretty good intuition concerning danger (esp. in Calif)....I knew when I needed to seek shelter or help, because someone was lurking me....I think I've been watched after, too....thank you for your words, Roxy...

Dear Ponderings,
Your: "I just might need a break from our precious website...for I'm becoming
more befuddled..." saddened me. I am grateful to you for the questions you ask,
and for your sharings, and so, would sorely miss your voice and your light.
My view is that one knows what one knows right now. And, one needs to honor
(go with) what one knows.
For me, as I read posts/articles/books/etc. I take from them what is useful/instructive
for me right now and leave the rest because I * k n o w* that what I need to learn
that I haven't learned yet, will present itself again and again until I learn it and make
it my own.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Re free will/choice another view is:
In short: Choose again.
One c a n choose again and again and again and yet, again.
One has choice…one can consciously (yes, mindfully) choose again and again.
That is, one c a n break destructive behaviors/patterns by consciously/mindfully
choosing to do/say something differently. For me, free will/choice is a given. Right
now, for me, I know that I know this: I feel this (know the foregoing) at the gut level.
Seems to me, that one does the best one can at any given moment. If one is unhappy
with the choice one made, then be sure, that one is presented with innumerable
opportunities, in like circumstances, to choose again to do it differently. Further, one
needs to forgive oneself for what one did/said, when one wishes one had done
something differently.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ponderings, I look forward to your voice and light here.
I am off to my sit.
Blessings,
resplen

Otoharo!
Firekeeper, I am replying to a post back in November. This is where I am coming from.
We were created with free will and choice. Even God will not counter our free will. That we have effects from our free will choices of course is true. And we continue to deal with these effects through further free will choices.
The effects do not take away our choice at any time. Perhaps it is the definition that is the base of this discussion.
We have choice about our ultimate goal. If we choose to live according to our whims and knock about on earth in this dimansion, we can do that for scocres of lifetimes. But the moment we take stock of ourselves and choose to be done with this and move on to something else, then that choice begins to direct our path and we begin to pay attention to our effects. But nothing forces this upon us, it is only the result of a previous choice, or a change of choice.
If, for instance, a person decides to leave this third dimension and go on to forth demension, then, every action and thought has to be scrutinized, considered and reconsidered, and tried out, to find what works for us at that time, what begins to raise our vibration. It is our own vibratory rate that governs all this. That is, after we have chosen to live other than in third dimension. What we call the Higher Self is who governs when we allow it. Even in the realms between lifetimes, it still remains the choice of the Higher Self who directs, sets up the situation that makes the next lifetime profitable to us according to our goals.
As I hear remarks about karma, they always seem to me refering to someone or something outside ourselves determining things for us. In my comprehension of things, only we ourselves determine our things. And only those who have no awareness of goals, and growth, and returning home, etc. Only these with no yearnings to know God or even awareness that God exists at all, Only these encounter the dark holes and get recycled.
When I became aware of my nefarious lifetimes, I asked why I don't just get recycled and was told that it was impossible for me because of my group. She was referring to the dodecahedron formation of a group. since I am a member of my group, then the choice of my group would limit me from choosing the dark hole. And that I am a member of this group is the result and effect of choices I made eons ago.

Finality,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- "better late than never", as an axiom, is also a myth
bagl
- as far as I am concerned, you seem to be choosing to live and labor under any number of misconceptions about Karma and "choice" and the notion of a completely 'free will' (no such thing)
- but these choices you feel you are making so freely are directly affected by all the "choice habits" you had in previous lives and the effects of which act now in this lifetime though most of these are largely out of your awareness
- as long as any 'choice' you make in this life is influenced by pastlife 'forces' of which you are unaware, no selection you make can be a fully free will choice (and some will be little better than knee-jerk decisions)
- so, we simply will need to agree to disagree
- and that is quite okey-dokey

Dear resplen...first, I'd like to apologize for saddening you..it wasn't my intent to take a break forever, truly. Just a....I've gotta let my brain rest here a bit kind of break. Secondly, you honor me with your words, especially..."I look forward to your voice & light here"....this is why I'll always return....and attempting to understand more, too.
I so agree with what else you've said. Can't remember all of the times that I've tossed something aside, because it made no sense to me....only to come back to it and think, "ah, so!" With such wonder! I like what you've said about destructive behaviors/patterns....I keep thinking "infinite possibilities" and new neuoral pathways....cause baby, I need 'em! Ha, this is so much fun....when I don't get so befuddled. Thank you from the center of being for caring. Blessings to you, my sweet friend.
