Hi. I'm trying to explore sound healing, and I found a site on SomaEnergetics, started by David Hulse. It talks about an ancient solfeggio scale used by the mideaval Catholic church and later taken underground. Sounds to me perhaps related to the Classical Northern Indian Ragas which use scales said to be in tune with nature, not the same musical scales we play our instruments in the West.

I'm trying to do some background searches on this stuff. Does anyone have indepth knowledge of the ancient solfeggio scale used by the mideaval Catholic church or any idea on what kind of sites may show up more material? This topic is presented on the site as a forbidden topic to discuss with church laypeople, which greatly peaks my curiosity about why? I'm also interested in learning more specifics about the ragas.

Although I love music, I have no musical ability at all & can really not help. However, I attended a presentation recently by Jonathon Goldman, sound healer & musician & he has a web at healingsounds.com. Perhaps that might be of service. He has a background in sacred sound, chant, etc.

Thanks Holobon. Since I first read your posting about him I've also read about him elsewhere. I'm definitely going to check him out. I believe I read that he uses the ancient solfeggio scale in some of his music.

I play the piano, compose music and do Reiki and though I haven't reached a professional level (well I'm only 18 y.o.) I have had thoughts about healing thru music. If you have got any information worth sharing please post it here. I would very much want to heal people through my music.
