and I need to go inside...
WINTER
The rain pours down
In solid streams
Like anguish from the sky,
But the tears don’t flow
On my aching face,
My eyes are closed and dry.
The wind shoves and howls
Accusingly
Around my hollow heart,
Emotions stand
In waiting, numb,
A place that’s blown apart.
The ground is bare
The water pools
In circles around my feet,
But I alone
Detached, untouched
Am dry and incomplete.
How do I open
To feel the rain,
Loose the tears to bless my skin?
Will I ever
Quench the thirst
Of the desert that’s within?
I stand alone
In the pouring rain
The rain outside myself.
The winter’s here
Embracing me,
But my heart is someplace else.

Sunshiine,
Love all three poems, they are great. I am a firm believer in people being mirrors of one another. Projection is so common sometimes I catch myself doing it after the fact and realize what I did. It's a constant discipline to look at ourselves first, isn't it?
Love & light
