Hi All,
I am a level II and presently I am suffering for uncontrolable Panic attacks. They seem to occur unpredicably. My last attack was on saturday when I was in my office checking my email.
I received a cold shiver throughout my body, I became extremely afraid. I developed breathing problems and started to shake. This lasted about 40 minutes.
I started to reiki myself and eventually feel asleep. When I woke up the attack had passed. Does anybody know of a way that I can prevent this before it happens.
I can't see anything that would have caused this attack before the attack. It was 5:00pm during the day and I felt quite relaxed.
Nods.

Hi Nods,
My brother suffers with panic attacks...they're really scary for him, so I sympathise.
Has this only been recently...are you be suffering from stress or depression?
sometimes an emotional trauma can set them off.
Maybe, if you can recognise the onset of the attack, you could try slow deep breathing, following your breath accompanied by Reiki to the forehead and back of the head, if possible at the same time. Firekeeper gave me this as a mind calming technique and it really works.
Hope this is of some help to you.
Love,Light and Blessings
Helen.

Hi Nods
How long have you been Reiki II? Are in still in the first 21 days after attunement? The reason I ask is because you may becoming more aware of other energies without knowing what they are and this could be causeing the panic attacks. Do you mediatate? If you do ask for an answer the next time you meditate.
Other things that might cause panic are changes in diet or hormone levels from enviromental changes.
Also if you are in to astrology, at certain planetary returns you face different challenges and certain ages are harder than others. Just some ideas. Hope they can lead to a solution for you.
Love & Light
Diane

Nods,
Namaste.
If they have happened often, where? Was there always a 'cold chill'?
If you review each event there may be a 'warning' sign as there are with certain types of seizures.
If you can determine the warning signs, reiki immediately could forestall the full blown event.
Panic attacks, however, often indicate internal struggles.
Reiki all around,
All Blessings,
Firekeeper

Hi, Nods,
I, too struggle with panic attacks and have since I was about 22, off and on. (I am 43 now.) Recently my panic/anxiety has reared it's ugly head again and I have been seeing my counselor. (She always helps me get through these times.) You know what I always find with her...or should I say what I am always reminded of? My panic/anxiety starts to build when there are some emotions I am suppressing. One time it was fear. I was really worried about money and didn't want my husband to know the state our credit was in...so I just kept it to myself. Thought I was dealing with it, but the panic and anxiety were setting in. My counselor helped me to realize I was "pushing down" the fear. Recently what I have been "pushing down" is alot of anger. My 21 year old son and I (he still lives at home) have been having a real hard time and since I came from a fighting, dysfunctional household, I make a point not to live that way now. But, swallowing my anger in order to keep the peace really takes on toll on me. I start with the anxiety and panic again and my world starts to get smaller. I stay closer to home. Thankfully my counselor always asks the right question. As soon as she brought to my attention the intense load of anger that is festering inside of me, and I have begun to work on doing ANYTHING but swallowing it (and that doesn't mean yelling and fighting...it could be writing or confronting each issues as it comes along and not letting them pile up), the anxiety and panic begins to subside and I feel like my old self.
Sorry for the LONG explanation, but I, too try to Reiki myself when on the verge or in a panic state and I know how hard it is. It also helps to get Reiki from someone else where you can just let go and let someone else...
Does this help you at all?
Bonnie

Namaste Nods,
Being a Reiki II, you could try sending distance Reiki using the distance symbol ahead to yourself in the future, requesting that the energy goes to you the next time your mind starts thinking it's time for another attack.
In love and light,
