Hi everyone

I am about to start training to become a Reiki Master and I wondered what made you all take the big step of becoming a Reiki Master.

Why did you want to become a Reiki Master?

Good question.
I never intended to become a RM as I never intended to teach. However the chance came up to take an Advanced Reiki course with a very good master, and I took it. At the end of that course he offered us the chance to do the full masters with him at a price that would have been silly not to take him up on, so I took it.

I am now glad that I did. For me the master attunement and course opened me up to so many new posabilities, one of the first which was (for me) a complete dumbing down of everything I had learnt and thought I knew about reiki before.
So for me it was the oppertunity to study with the right master.

Good question. In the beginning, I did not plan on becoming a master. I was actually a Reiki II for about 9 mos and wasn't even thinking about doing the Master level. One day I found myself involved in a Reiki share with a brand new Reiki I and couldn't keep myself from sharing helpful tips with her.....and suddenly realized how much I had learned since my Reiki I attunement.....and how much I enjoyed teaching it to someone else. There it was. I wanted to teach.

When I asked my teacher if she thought I was ready, she laughed out loud, "You've been ready for a long time. I was just wondering how long it was going to take you to figure out that you wanted it."
