How do we know God's will for our lives. I know people say intention but I have asked very clearly for things and not gotten it. I am still at a crossroad with my career dillemma and am praying for Gods will for me?? How do Iknow when I have made the right decision for me.???Any thoughts..
One decision makes me more comfortable the other is a very unknown situation, challenging and time consuming...I have tried pros and cons and still I get no absolutes.

What a question!!
We cannot know Gods will with 100% certainty
“I know people say intention but I have asked very clearly for things and not gotten it.”
Our personal intension is not Gods will.
“How do Iknow when I have made the right decision for me.???”
There are two ways of looking at this. One way is the personal/ego way, the way that will make you happy and comfortable. This way you just can’t know. You can try a balance sheet…pros and cons, you can try to imagine your future as it will be either way, you can consult psychics...which I don’t recommend at all, a good counselor may help. Asking for internal guidance form your higher source, dreams may be useful.
Then there is the “spiritual” way (I use “” on the word spiritual because I used the word for lack of a better word in this moment…it is late I am getting ready for sleep). This way you can assume that any decision you make is the right one. Everything you do is part of your path and serves your highest good. Everything you do is exactly what you need to further you spiritual growth. Everything is Gods will. The problem is that your ego may not like it. And that can be a big problem! This however is the to go. Make your decision the best you can and realize it is for the highest good, Gods will…even if things go poorly by your egos judgment.
At some point you need just make a decision
Let go
Trust that it is right
See what really does happen as time unfolds
And at some point you may need to make another decision
Hope this helps,
rich

eirelassey,
Go mbeannaigh Dia duit,
I am not one to use god as a 'middle man', so to speak, but I do know that sometimes the answer is Yes, sometimes it is, No, and sometimes it is, Maybe (or, wait for now)

Otoharo!
eirelassey, I do not have an answer for you. I can share my experience. I grew up and lived until the late forties geared to what felt to me was God's will for me. I was happy in this style of living. Then I studied under Coll and came to have a different attitude toward God. (Actually, Coll asked for $1,000. fee immediately from anyone asking him a question about God. His focus was on our finding and developing our own qualities.) As I developed myself to my optimum, my awareness of the Source of All became even more! I came to know that whereas, in my first lifestyle, I felt it so important to know God's will and live it. Now, I am aware, that it is the will of the Source, to allow us our full freedom to be and do what we desire. That seems to be the focus of all creation, to explore, and expand, and reflect back to our Source what we all share!
So wahtever, you choose, it is your prerogotive to do and to be whoever you wish.

Go raigh maith agat!!
Maybe it will be decided for me...Thats what I hope for.
Free time to spend with family and friends is more important to me than do-re- me and more responsibility!!
I always feel that the universe will provide no matter what path I choose.
I like to walk the teacher, inspirer, healer path not necesarily the authoritarian (not my strong point)I'll leave that to the warrior types! Slan anish

eirelassey,
Tráthnóna maith,
Believe it or not, we do end up making our own decisions; even when we might feel we are doing what others 'order' us to do we always have at least two other options.
:)
Go mbeannaigh Dia duit,
Cheers,
RC

Perhaps God's Will is that you make your own decision?

Namaste all!
It is hard to think of God as a third person sitting up there watching and enjoying the show. Deepak Choprah's "How to Know God" is a good read. If God is there, perhaps he would like us to deal with the cards we got as gracefully and as courageously as we can. A stormy ocean makes a better sailor, etc., etc.
I once dreamt that God gave me a big vessel that was only partially filled and then he showed me that this amount would fill a smaller container to the brim! He was full of kindness and grace as he did this and I never felt cheated.

Hi mal,
I do feel God is a third person watching each n every one of us..I am beginning to think that everything is His will n I am confused abt this will of His depends upon what?! I am seeing no freedon in doing what we desire to do.The best recourse is to think that Gods will is the best for us n do our best whether we like His will or not.But easier said than done!

I'm not sure if Gods will is something we know or not know,
however! what i do know is that if one choses to stay connected to God that is all that is needed! God will do the rest! live your life, walk your path, stay connected & God will do the rest! you can pray and ask for things,
no problem with that, but if it is not meant to be it won't happen !
my personal feeling is that everything happens for a reason
or in some cases some things don't happen for a reason .
we may not know the reasons now. that's why it is said there are no mistakes !
