The Reiki Cafe 

Hi Everyone,

My sister was doing self Reiki just before getting out of bed. She had had her right hand over her heart. She had been lying face up. When she changed from her bed clothes to her street clothes, she noticed a red imprint of her hand over her heart. The imprint disappeared within an hour or so.

We would like to know if anyone else has experienced an imprint or marking from doing Reiki or other energy work.

Hi.

Sounds like "other energy" was mixed in with the Reiki work. Or perhaps she was pressing down rather more firmly than ususal for an extended period. If there was no itching or discomfort one can probably rule out any sort of 'allergic reaction' to something that might have been on her hand.

Otherwise, I have never encountered what you say she describes in Reiki work. Such manifestations have been noted in other sorts of work, however.

Reiki sometimes increases blood flow in the area where it is being applied. It could be that there was a temporary increase in blood flow to the skin in that area, turning it red.
