Dear friends,
I have a question about energy and the feeling or sensing thereof.
And yes, I know we've covered this on more than one occasion, but I don't think I've heard this question ever phrased in quite this way.
If a person is aware of energy and during a Reiki session can feel the energy, and can tell the differences depending on who the sender is.
And then suddenly with someone new, they don't feel anything.
And bearing in mind that alot of folk say that you don't actually need to feel the energy for it to be working.
Does this mean that there is no energy flowing from the sender?
Or something else?
Interested in your thoughts.
~ Blessings ~

Hi Nats,
I hope I am understanding your question. I have worked on one person and felt a tremendous amount of energy and "see" many things but a few minutes later have the next person on the table and feel relatively nothing. This may be that they are nervous and blocking me, that they are trying to hard to feel something themselves and end up "pushing" the energy away, etc. but I do believe that no matter what, the reiki energy does flow on some level. I believe this because I will call this person the next day and they tell me how well they slept or that certain memories have surfaced, that they have more energy and many other types of changes.
I hope this helps. Whether or not we feel anything, we are still channeling this loving energy. The clients body will do with it as needed. Simply my 2 cents.
Love and light,
Tracey

Hi Tracey,
Your answer certainly makes sense from the sender's point of view.
But I was talking more from the recipient's point of view.
If they don't feel anything, did they still receive?
Bearing in mind that they would normally have no trouble feeling energy and with a specific person, they feel nothing.
Hope that clarifies my question LOL.
<hugs>

natalie,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- if one works from the 'frequency model' (which I typically do not) then one "explanation" is that the energy was not 'sensed' because it was at a 'frequency' beyond the recipient's range
- this does not mean it was, a priori, higher frequency energy than recipient could 'sense'
>:-}}
- it is, of course, also possible that the sender in question was not sending much of anything
>;-}}
- a second session, or even a third, might be a useful experiment if anyone really cares.

- hope this helps

Otoharo!
Nats, when we were new to reiki, my friend and I practiced on each other and both together on another person. It was a learning time, of experiencing. From that point onward, we knew what was happening. If you have a firend and can do this it is a marvelous way to get answers.

Thank you Finality.
This was actually a question posed by me on behalf of a friend who is across the ocean from me.
On the occasions when we have practiced together, he has always felt Reiki from myself.
But from (some) others, he does not.
So I wanted to know how hard and fast the rule is that "Reiki always flows if the person sending thinks it is".
I don't think this is always true.

Hi Peter,
...possible that the sender in question was not sending much of anything...
I think this is the answer to my question, most likely.
However, this disproves an idea which is sprouted as a Reiki gospel, ie "that Reiki always flows if the sender believes he is sending".
I was curious about whether this is true in all instances - and I don't think it is.
Thanks!
Natalie

Thank you for the clarification. I always tell my clients they will recieve what they need, not necessarily what they want. If this has happened with only one person then perhaps when that person came to you they did not need to feel that powerful flow.
I would not see this as a reflection on yourself. I would say that this is just the way it was supposed to happen.
If this has happened with more than one person, it could be that you are trying too hard. When I try to hard to make the reiki flow I end up being the blockage, not the client.
I hope this helped better,
Big hugs,
Tracey
p.s.
Our own self doubt can also be a blockage.

Natalie,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- most welcome.
- wishful thinking is certainly not the same as self-fullfilling prophecy or 'wishing'
- the energy is always there but we may not always be connected to it vis a vis Reiki practices (for ourselves or others)
>:-}}
- could be a case where the so called 'lower self' has no clue about the doings of the so-called 'higher self'
