The Reiki Cafe 

My subject line is in regards to how others may be feeling the energy shifts in themselves and the receivers when working with Reiki?

I first learned about Reiki a little bit more than a year ago when I joined a local Reiki sharing group. Many doors have opened since that time, metaphysically speaking.

I was attuned 1st and 2nd last May and recently to Master this past January. The first two attunements were certainly a rise and increase of energy flow but not difficult to adjust to. The Master attunement was awesome, taking the better of two weeks to adjust to. LOL A friend's son who sees auras saw me as blue-violet before the attunement, a week later I asked him to read me again... red energy as the "power and passion" worked itself through the process. Yes, now my aura has settled back down.

When I first began sharing Reiki I was thrilled to feel the energy period. Then as I continued to share energy, a tingling in my hands started, next the heel of my palms became almost painful as the flow increased. Now it is not unusual to find the energy pulsing. Sometimes like alternating current, other times simulaniously in both hands, on occassion almost like a massaging pulse. My guess is that however the receiver most needs the healing energy, that is how it flows.

In a separate message board, I read that some feel that the energy frequency / vibration / intensity seems to rise to the corresponding chakra. I don't think that it always increases but shifts to meet the highest good. From what I get... those I share Reiki with benefit most from a calming influence. The mental / emotional aspect. A balancing of the energy, some faster, some slower.

Another thought that has come to mind is of the future shift of energy that earth is just beginning to experience. It is that year 2012 / Mayan Calandar shift that I have been thinking about. If this theory is correct, some folks will have no difficulty adjusting, others will need to refocus their vibration higher. Could this be part of why Reiki is seeing a growing interest... a bit of preparation so to speak.

I, too, recently received (August) my master attunements. And just last weekend attended a second master class (invited by my teacher) and received 2 other attunements just because. Since then, I have also felt the pulsing in my hands. My regular clients have noticed an intensity in the heat of my hands but they don't feel the pulsing. I find that I can run energy better as well.

I have never actually felt the energy flow through me like most practitioners. But I know it works as I have validating clients! So it is refreshing to feel the pulsing. It helps me be more mindful of what I am doing when I Reiki someone.

As for the earth shift, I am no expert on that but have heard alot about it. Only hope we are ready if we need to be.

I find it interesting just how different each persons feelings and their individual reactions can be to Reiki energy.

It seems logical for me to start asking the folks that I share energy with for more input. Such as what they may feel... that way I should be able to better gage what is happening on both sides of the energy, learn better control. In the past I just kind of let the energy flow as it "wanted" but it has been described to me recently as tuning into a water faucet. Is the flow a trickle or gushing? I understand that the more I work with Reiki the better I will get a feel for what is happening. Another example is that some people "know" when they are full. Others are less knowing.

Meantime, finding a message board like this one is wonderful. It feels good to have new folks to toss ideas around with.

I have been pondering your question on and off for a couple of days :)

I find that Reiki works very well for calming and de-stressing. That in itself of course allows the body to heal faster and regain balance. I find that the energy increases if it hits a 'problem area', rather than at specific chakras. When I do my self healing, sometimes I get a very gentle flowing sensation, but then 'whoosh' at a particular chakra (not the same one everytime), which to me signifies that the chakra is out of balance.

I'm not sure why more people are taking up Reiki and spiritual things(although I'm glad they are). Partly I think its because modern life lacks 'wholeness' and we are looking to nourish our souls. On the other hand it could be that we are preparing for the shift. There seems to be lots about indigo children and how they have been sent for this purpose.

Wonderful to hear from you and I greatly appreciate the intro to Reiki Cafe.

The energy shift that "seem" to be building is still a curiosity to me. Yet as I experience more with energy and reiki I tend to be able to handle just a tad more every so often. That make any sense? LOL Kinda-sorta like the frequency builds up and taking the time to adjust. Then it builds up again and feels off kilter until the new adjustment has time to work.

For example, last night I went to a gem and mineral club meeting. LOL The stones seem to "speak" to me and raise my energy. This club is really going to be fun. They have lapidary tools and heaven have mercy I was still buzzing after we cut a few slices from my Blue Lace Agate. Saturday I plan to have more lessons about working with stones. Yahoo, add intent to working with the stones and see where it leads. At any rate, it was hard to fall asleep after the build up of energy. A few days ago I would have been a bit stressed. I thought about doing some self Reiki then realized... no enjoy the ability to let it flow. Even now, just thinking about the feeling from the energy last night, and my crown feels wide open.

Good thing my Reiki sharing group meets tonight. I need to share and release some of this good stuff. Plus, I usually sleep like a log afterwards.

Blue lace Agate...one of my favourites, associated with angel energy.

I love all crystals too :) I must admit I tend to wear them rather than work with them but I love holding an amethyst bed in my hand and feeling the buzz of energy that comes from it. I seem to go through phases of needing to wear a particular stone and they often have blue tones (lapis lazuli, aquamarine, turquoise). I have a crystal wand too, but have never actually used it, i just like to hold it :))

It certainly does make sense about the energy building up and then kiltering off until the body is used to it. I struggle with the concept of people being attuned to all three levels in one go, for exactly that reason. It must be like turning a tap on full blast, then trying to cope with the flood :)) Much better to adjust at our own pace and build up the flow.

If you don't already have the book, Love is in the Earth by Melody, grab one. It is a wonderful reference for crystals and their attributes. That particular volume has no photos but the information is amazing.

I have bought stones in the past with no idea why they called to me, taken them home, then looked up their properties. Only to understand... No wonder this one wanted to come home with me. Just what I needed! Some stones I have not used yet, like a beautiful rose quartz wand with a clear quartz point on one end and little sphere on the other. I get the feeling that I am gathering my tools for a future use????

I make necklaces and braclets, wire wrap a little and hope to learn much more, on occasion do a 'laying of the stones' though I have a lot yet to learn. And yes, have been known to place them in bed with me. If I had a Native American name it would probably be "She Who Sleeps With Rocks" LOL.

Your draw to blue stones is interesting. Lapis for third-eye work, the turquoise for healing and protection, not sure about the aquamarine but all blue shaded stones have an affinity for third eye and throat chakra depending on their shade. Also a color of spirituality.

LOL On angles and blue lace agate conection. My guides are certainly my angels, loving and a constant source of inspiration. I bought my "chunk" of agate a while back and now is the time to work with it I suppose.

My selection of stones changes often. We choose them because they have an attribute that will asssit us at that particular time. The two that call me the most these days are Moonstone and Labadorite. A balance of Yen and Yang and transformation.

Try using a piece of rose quartz with your amethyist for and even more loving energy. Ahh, rose quartz is wonderful and adds love to everything.

PS.... Have to agree with you on a three for one attunement... gives me the chills just thinking about it. Overload is what would have happened to me.

reiki_bear, energy flows easily when there is no resistence. Any body responses are caused by resistence. As you become more familiar with the energy, it flows easier, not due to the energy but due to you. And that is also true of your clients. My first such experience, after reiki I, was this. My master told me to go ahead and offer reiki to my clients. (these were coming to me for psychic readings.) So I did. One young man, did not tell me much of his history. But he was avid for treatments and willing to pay my small fee. He wanted more and more. It got to be that my hands began vibrating while reiki flowed. This was noticeable to me and to him. I asked my spiritual friend about this reaction. she told me it was only that he was drawing more energy than my body was used to. And soon, my hands did not vibrate any more. He asked me about that, thinking maybe there was less energy. And I shared with him what had happened.
