Has anyone ever tried and been successful in the recovery of a goldfish?!?!?!
I have a Comet that is 2 years old, 10" long and has been sitting on the bottom of his tank. We have tried all of the conventional methods for wellness (EXCEPT the vet), water changes, pH checks, adding salt, etc. etc. He just does not respond.
I have been giving him short sessions, using the master symbols, for about 3 days now. No noticable improvement except that he IS still alive! (Goldfish, contrary to popular belief, are very high maintenance).
ANY feedback would be gratefully excercised!

May sound like a joke.........but there is truth to that. When there is more than one goldfish, the second fish will actually help the sick one to move. That movement helps with the healing process. Years ago I had removed a sick goldfish from the tank. Poor fish just sat on the bottom. While I was at school, my mother put him back with the healthy fish. She told me, "Fish was sick and was now getting depressed. I put him where he could have companionship." The healthy fish had kept the sick one simming. Would let it resta bit and then begin to push it into motion. Sick fish recovered faster.

- a little story about gold fish - some years ago a friend had tried for a number of many years to get pregant including AI - even asked my wife if it would be OK for me to try with her
- well, my suggestion was that she buy a pair of goldfish and keep them in her room - if they produced offspring then she would get pregnant
- they did and she did

I too chuckled at your suggestion but seriously are goldfish spawning a fertility symbol then? If they are I for one will be staying well clear of golfish tanks and ponds! bagl

I know this is going to sound really silly...but how do you tell a male and female goldfish apart? lol
Are you doing okay? I have been in your position a few years back and know how incredibly hard it is. If it helps(which I know it doesn't but) I went on to have three....hence the avoidance of golfish now :)

Dear Cindy,
Sorry about your goldfish. When I was first attuned I did reiki on my sick fish and alas it died and I thought I killed it which shows my mindset at that time. I felt quite guilty & now I realize how distorted my thinking was. I most likely aided it in the dying process. Maybe asking for long distance would help if you haven't already and calling a goldfish person at pet store for tips. Good luck,
Prosperity

"In Japanese symbolism the koi represents perserverance in adversity and strength of purpose. This has made it one of the most popular of their tattoos. The strongest koi swims upstream until it reaches the final waterfall, where it vaults into the mists and becomes a water dragon."
>:-}}
- if I am not mistaken, Koi and goldfish are of the same Species or Family (Cyprinoids) - but you might want to check that to be certain
- as for the male-female determination? Ask a reputable aquatic life supplier who should be able to help - or wait and see

Have you been sending reiki to the fish or the water? Perhaps reiki-ing the water might help?
Have you held him in your hand in the water to do reiki?
Just thoughts,
Tracey

here goes!
a female goldfish has 'an outtie bellybutton' right behind it's bottom fin. a male one has an innie there!(kind of the opposite of people!!!!) that's so that the eggs can squirt out easier...
also, does your fish have any discolourations, red marks or cottony stuff on its body? that's a pretty serious disease that you need to look after quick, the second almost always fatal.
i'm a goldfish maniac!i know tons of stuff about them!
a good thing to do is give him some company but only if he isn't the kind of sick i described before cause it's contageous. also keep in mind that for them to be happy and grow full length they need about 10 litres of water each. i dunno what that is in gallons though, sorry... not absolutely necessary but it keeps them most comfy and happier that way!!!
plus, if you have colored pebbles in the tank you might want to get rid of them cause they often have this poison stuff cause of the color. it causes all kinds of things from sleepiness and dizziness to disease. (picture a dizzy fish!!!)
you can try feading him some boiled egg, only a little bit of the yolk. they love that and it should bring him up to eat. if it activates him, for a good ammount of time and looks happy he amused for a while he's most probably just a lazy body!!! if he doesn't move, it will dissolve in the water and he'll still get the good stuff. it will do him good both ways.
you can email me for more stuff if you need to!!!
i hope he's just lazy and not sick. i'll help you reiki him if you want me to!

Rainbow, can you email me? I can't get yours to show up!
I am getting ready to put him back in his regular clean 10 gallon tank. But I had thought about the colored gravel. I may take that out because that is the only thing different I have done to his home since January and that is when he started getting sick!
THANKS!!!!!

OK! try getting rid of the pebbles but change his water too. If his attitude doesn't change, you can add a tablespoon of salt to the water. that will mildly disinfect everything and make him feel a little better.
Carefull not to add too much salt. he isn't a seawater fish after all! just a table spoon... He'll probably freak out at first but he'll settle. then change 1/3 of the tank water 2 days later.
Oh, before changing the water do you let it sit for 24 hours to let the chlorine and stuff evaporate? both tanks, his temp one and the actual one.

Yes, I'm doing fine now. I was lucky enough to have one little miracle 3 yrs ago. (it took us 6 yrs to get her)
I want more, and we were pretty sad, but at least I was actually able to get pregnant, which, overall, is a good sign for us.
Thank you for asking, I appreciate all the kind thoughts, words, prayers, and of course reiki.
Love and Blessings (and maybe a couple goldfish),
DesertWolf

I am happy to report that Oscar, the amazing and swimming fish, appears to be on the mend. Clean water every other day, removing the painted gravel AND of course two sessions of Reiki per day seems to have done the trick thus far.
Thank you all, especially Rainbow, whom gonged me with the idea of taking out the toxic gravel. I had already been using salt (cures alot of stuff for goldfish) and had been replacing his water every other day. I use bottled spring water instead of tap water. I have had tropical fish that were not as much trouble as this guy!!
In a few weeks, Oscar will have a mate. Hope that will cure him for good!
I, on the other hand, have been neutered!!!!!!!
Thanks!!

cindy,
Hi.
I am glad Oscar appears to be on the up-swing. Humans, of course, are probably the only species on earth where consenting adults may still enjoy sexuality in the absence of capabiity for procreation.
Cheers (a nice dollop of whipped cream on top),
RC

yeeey!!! congratulatiooons!!! sooo happy he's doing well! try to not change his water so often though soon cause the change kills this stuff they have on their skin... get a good water filter and change the white cotony stuff (fiber cotton? i dunno in english)about every 2 months. this way you can keep the same water for up to 6 months. REALLY good for them!!!
i'm happy for you both.
