toharo!
I am finding more and more, that there is no separation of reiki from whatever I am doing. for instance, I have dragged out from my locker, materials, threads, etc. that I have stored away during the business of the last few years. I am finding that working with my hands in this close needle work is so intimate and puts me in my feelings immediately, that reiki flows of its own accord.
In the South, at least, children learn needle work right along with all the other things being learned before school begins for them. I crocheted then before I could read. Most of the summers were spent in needlework also.
Coll taught that to be in your feelings, do things with your hands. Reiki goes with feelings rather than thinking. And I see the evidence of it with my renewal of needle work. Sewing on a machine is satisfying, but nowhere near as satisfying as sewing with the fingers. I just can not explain it. It defies description. And I expect to keep it up. Of course as an air person, I have very great difficulty doing the same thing over and over again exactly alike. The creativity in me changes the next one, and the next one. So the outcome, fine to me, is likely somewhat askew to someone else!

Thanks for your post finality!
As a sewer your comments speak to me. I especially love that last line. Most of my life I have been a "people pleaser". My work has been to please others (not all but most). I am only now figuring out that pleasing myself in my work is much more satisfying than trying to figure out what others want :)
I have not done much creative work lately. But I have noticed that the Reiki flows often when I have slipped into old patterns. Serves to remind me nicely and gets me moving past the old habits.

Suzette,
Well! I continue to be amazed at the answers I get from this and other forums to the questions I haven't asked!
I had noticed that reiki started to flow at certain times when it didn't seem applicable, like when I poured that glass of wine I wasn't going to have, or as you say, slipped into old habits. So that's why - reiki is reminding me. Amazing, and rather comforting.
Thank you for your post on this subject.
Finality - I love needlework too. Not much patience though, I want it finished too soon!

Dear Finality,
I hate to sew because I dont have the patience for the detailed work but I have to admit that when I sit down to sew a button or repair an article of clothing by hand, it is relaxing ( as long as Im OK with the fact that it will not look professional. :)
There is something about working with your hands that causes a flow of harmony or peacefull feelings. How else can one explain big burly masculine guys needle pointing? :)
Im not particularly good at artwork but have always loved it, there is that connection to the creative process, bringing something of yourself to the surface.....
peace & joy,
holobon

I too have found working with the hands to cause the Reiki to flow......gardening, cleaning, decorating and creating. Have dusted off the paints and the unfinished projects. Before I went back to work I started an emboidered baby blanket......actually two. Babies are now turning eight!
I learned knitting, crochet, embroidery, crewel, needlepoint and tailoring as a little girl. Dad said it was a good thing to know and good work on very hot days. Every time I pick up a needle I remember the first time anyone asked where I learned to embroider. Was sitting in the waiting area, waiting to talk witht the High School Principal. Secretary (older woman) said how refreshing it was to see a young girl doing needle work.....asked if my grandmother taught me. I told her, "The women in my family have trouble sewing on a button. My Daddy taught me needlework." The look on her face is forever etched in my memory.

Hello my dear bon bon,
:-))
Or not of yourself. I have always said that my best work as a potter is not by me but through me.
Then again I may be giving credit where credit is not due.
:-))

hello everyone,
Whilst not much of a sewer(can manage a button but that's about it) one thing I did notice whilst practising T'ai Chi following my attunement to Reiki 1. We did a lot of partner work, pushing hands, and without exception, every partner I worked with complained that my hands were burning them. I can only think that either they needed the chi or moving chi round my body stimulated it to take in more. It still happens now and never ceases to amaze me.
Blessed Be to one and all
Brian
